Will be interested to see what traction Marcus gets in FA, however I'd welcome him back. With Rankins injury history, maybe he returns at a "bargain". At worst, he's solid depth. As for Trey, I think he's gone. Tread carefully on players who over perform in a contract season but I hope he gets paid this off season … elsewhere. |
Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
They are all gone. All going to get offers way above the rice range the Saints looking at, especially with truing to get Winston tied down. Williams is the big miss

I know JJ is older and has dealt with injuries, but to not even trade him and get some sort of draft pick compensation???

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Whoever gave that contract to Peat head should be on the block. For all the great drafting the last few years some of the contracts given out have been laughable
Likely lose Williams this off season, cutting players and pushing back payments till next year lowering free cap space again to give out do many high priced deals to so few players. You'll likely see them convert Jenkins salary this summer tying him down for another 2 years, same with Peat. 13 players with cap hits over 10ml. The roster is so top loaded |

Heath Evans was our last dynamic FB. Maybe Mason from Michigan falls to UDFA

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Having just finished the season on Madden with Winston as QB i can confirm that it will work very well over 5600 yards and 63 TDs
Mind you Michael Thomas caught 160 passes for well over 2000 yards and 31 TDs so im not sure id say it is that accurate |

Urban Meyer coached Lattimore. If the Jaguars offered us pick #25 for Latt would you do it? |

I really wouldn't want to lose him but paying him without messing long term cap up would be difficult. Some big decisions needed. It's honestly the reason why I suggested taking as many hits this year as needed to get the cap in order and not waste multiple years by pushing everything back I've also said before I really think Gardner Minshew would be a legit option as QB especially if Winston is asking for anything over 10ml. He still has 2 years left on his rookie deal at under a million each year |

I don't think either are necessarily the long term answer for a championship, both seem more of a bridge option. Minshew did well with little help when he played, his INT are low. For me he offers value if you can get him for a 3rd, or some similar deal. But then the Jags might see him as the ideal back up.
The cap value is there and at them numbers it doesn't stop you drafting a replacement or getting a good FA in a year after. I mean you get him cheap for 2 years, option the tag in the third while you see if he steps up or gives you time to draft |
