I think we'll need to draft a LT.

Re: Nnamdi visiting Saints on Sunday

Idk where people get this Bushrod is horrible crap. Brees sits back there for 8 seconds and people blame Bushrod. Zach Strief is horrible. Bushrod? No.

As far as LT, they'll probably take a chance on Charles Brown. Who knows. But we don't need to go offense in the 1st round.

If one of the top Tackles in the draft falls to 15 we'd be crazy not to take him

Yea we need a washed up corner who can't cover

NinthWardJay 03-17-2013 02:21 PM

Nnamdi can't cover?

Re: Nnamdi visiting Saints on Sunday

History shows that Nnamdi CAN cover in Rob Ryan's defense. And, even in Philly, he got plenty of INT's.

Bring in somebody like Sebastian Vollmer to play LT instead of drafting a rookie. Everybody keeps talking like we need to get younger. Like we're rebuilding. No. We need to win now. Who cares of Nnnamdi is 31? Greer is 30. Cut him too then right? Nnamdi is better then any corner we've had since Mike McKenzie.

westbankdaze 03-17-2013 02:34 PM

Lets be honest, Greer is on the downside. He will be producing less and less each season. PRob is young and I think has potential.

Namdi is also on the way down, but perhaps even at his current level he is still better than anything we have in our secondary.

Nnamdi Asomugha over Greer! I hope that is a typo. Greer is far better than Nnamdi

come on bro.....i'm a saints fanatic like everybody else...but this is ridiculous.

We need taller corners anyway. Lewis is a start.

Re: Nnamdi visiting Saints on Sunday

If they sign Nnamdi Asomugha and cut Greer, by week 3 saint's fan will be screaming for a trade or placing Jenkins back @ corner and Nnamdi to FS.

I am for signing him but not at the cost of Greer

I don't think they'll cut Greer. I rather cut Robinson.

No way will they cut Patrick. It's too early to give up on a 1st rd pick

Dude what's it gonna take for you to realize that people are not ready to bring in an old guy like Nnamdi at the expense of a younger 1st rd pick Patric Robinson or a guy who's been there like Greer.
I never said we needed to get younger I said let's see what the younger guys have like Patric Robinson, and others that are already on the team.

Nnamdi is not the same player he was 3 years ago, he won't have the same people around him like he had in Oakland.

Not really. That was a Gregg Williams 1st rounder. He might do a little better coming in on Nickel packages, seeing how Greer is hurt through most of the season anyway.

The one thing people have to come to terms with is we will have a weakness somewhere. It's inevitable. Our Super Bowl team wasn't perfect, and neither will this one be. If we win it all, it'll be because of Drew Brees and Sean Payton. All we need is a top fifteen defense. We don't need the D to be a juggernaut.

re: Nnamdi Asomugha (All in one)

I suggest the saints find a corner in the draft they're will be plenty and go for Free agent pass rusher or ilb.

So you want Greer who is always hurt and Robinson who is always burnt. They need to keep as many corners as they can available. There are plenty of teams interested in him. Including the team that went to the Super Bowl. Nnamdi now is still better then Greer and Robinson, so forget 3 years ago.

Guys, this is getting stupid! Even if we sign Nnamdi there's no chance that Greer or any other CB gets cut. NONE of our CB's are going to be cut regardless of whom we sign. Stupid debate in my opinion.

I for one am happy that we're doing something to improve one of the worst groups of DB's in NFL history. As amazing as our offense is, the only thing killing us right now is defense. In Loomis I Trust!!

Nnamdi was one of the best CB's in the league when Rex Ryan was his D-Coordinator. That's reason enough for me to bring him in and let a coach whom he reportedly loves and trusts let him get back to his former self.

I don't know about you folks but I'm looking forward to seeing Patrick Robinson play man again.

You sucked last year Patrick, time to rise up and play to your ability in a scheme that suits you well. No more excuses. Time to shine! I'm rooting for ya.

I would like to see him get another chance under a new coach in Rob Ryan. You're right Papz time to earn that spot.

His development seemed to be progressing nicely under GW, but last year was pretty hard to watch - hopefully it was a "Junior slump" and he'll be able to pick things up from where he left them in the 2011 season.

Hmmm...

Greer has averaged 14 games per season during the last 9 years and 13 games per season during these last four years with the Saints, so while that's not perfect, it's pretty good for a small(ish) CB.

Greer is the man when healthy and has done a fine job for us.............they need to cut P Rob.............our latest disappointment.

IDC what anybody says, no DB on the roster is better then Nnamdi. Greer is just as old. Sharper was even older.

Re: Nnamdi visiting Saints on Sunday

I want him to sign but only if the price is right. He's already getting paid 4mill from the eagles so it may happen. Maybe a 1yr deal an if he has a great season with us he could possibly land a great contract from another team. I look at bringin him in as a plus because under rob he has gotten to 3 pro bowls an knows the system so at worst he teaches an mentors our cbs on how to excel in robs scheme. I hear alot of people talk down on p rob but look back last year alot of big plays he gave up he had little to no safety help. 1 or more years with a vet like nnmadi could benefit us alot an i think this is robs reason for wanting nnmadi cause his defense feeds off cb play.

Were all of you saying cut P-rob his second year when there was talk about him becoming the #1 CB for us.....Its one bad season after a scheme switch sheesh! Jabari Greer PLAYED NO better!!!! at least give him a year under Rob Ryan

Exactly what i keep trying to tell my mate on boat. Not to mention he had almost no safety help give him that he has the potential to be great.

No safety help and no pass rush!!...all I see is cut patrick robinson and start keenan lewis when keenan lewis is no more proven than P-rob

RiverSaint 03-18-2013 12:07 AM

Re: Nnamdi visiting Saints on Sunday

lol yup i like Lewis but 1 decent year with alot of tackles an pds with no ints on arguably the best defensive dynasty ever don't mean u go off cutting people especially a young corner who's been through two different scheme an played with.the worst defensive squad as a whole ever. Anybody would get beat if the qb can smoke a cigar in pocket while Jenkins swats flyss in back field poor p rob. I mean a pass rush is key look back at game vs new England when mike came off couch eating pork rinds to play with saints an made tom look stupid.
