The way I’m looking at the QB pos’n right now is unless there is a slam dunk guarantee starter, in this draft, who will be better than Jameis or Taysom..., then don’t address a possible “need” or a possible “cap saver”. This team has some quite obvious, unambiguous needs. Prioritize those. |

Kurt Warner was an Undrafted Free Agent... So your QB can come from any location, though I admit, most come in the first round... |

Trust me, I know the quantitative analysis is there on dang near everybody in the draft, regardless of pos’n, but sometimes fit with a team, or a single bad position coach, or a personality quirk, etc... can turn a superstar in the making into persona non grata with an NFL team’s FO, ensuring he is seen as a bust. It’s the uncertainty, not the round drafted. imho, if you’re drafted, you have the potential. After that, it’s just development and fit that makes the difference between success or failure. Brees wasn’t exactly a stud puppy at San Diego, and regardless of injury, I firmly believe he would have been completely wasted had he and Payton not found their joined at the hip relationship. |
