Kaden Ellis David Onyematta Paulson Adebo Trey Hendrickson Al Qadim Muhammad CJCG Troutman to name a few all were in the third round AK and Anzalone all 3rd round players. Who mentioned Landon Young as an example I know the 3rd has been one of the Saints most successful rounds for drafting players in recent years and we traded both of them away. For what it's worth, the Saints gave up the most punt return yards in the league last season. These picks in the mid to late rounds of the draft addressed that. Alonte Taylor should be a good gunner and I'll bet that we'll see a lot of Smoke on Special Teams this season.

Can’t help but wonder if that most return number given up is offset a bit how far Giliken boots his friggin kicks !?

You do what you need to do to make sure you get the player that you want. They didn't trade those picks away for laughs and grins. It appears they had Olave at the top of their board those picks were what was required to make the move.

In a peculiar kinda way, I feel like the Saints got 3 1st rounders in this draft.

Olave, Penning & Payton Turner. How many games did he play in 2021? Like 3? Essentially a unknown.

He played in five, but only one of those after week five and only had 15 snaps on defense in that one. Never really had time to get his feet under him.
