- He doesn't have his own people. (Because he didn't put them in place, strike 1.)

- An executive or two signed off on him as a HC. (No one that was instrumental in installing him wants to go after the end of the season so they will rationalize to Mrs. Benson reasons why he should get a second year then put pressure on him to perform to save their jobs.)

- The media, starving for something to talk about, will rally to his side with the "you cant fire someone after just one season BS". (This is only valid if Dennis Allen would have started to rebuild in the off season; he didn't, that window is closed since his first choice was the wrong choice.. Strike 2)

- He made a second year a condition of accepting the HC position. (Because I would have and if he didnt, he really needs to go now mid season because he is truly a checker player and cant see 2 feet in front of himself).

I remember the threads vividly with many people hanging their hat on Dennis Allen because he meant continuity.. Ignoring the glaring performance and talent issues.

There is always the possibility (didn't say probability) that this was orchestrated to give Sean a year off and he returns and Dennis resumes his Defensive role. On a certain level, I do not buy any of this bull****. I am supposed to believe that Sean Payton, the quintessential chess player, woke up on a Saturday morning and said f*** it, I am done. I am supposed to believe that after 15 years of working very closely together through a lot of BS (Bountygate/Vicodin/Loss of Tom), Mickey Loomis didn't know it was coming?

A $3.5BN franchise does not exist without very painstakingly developed succession plans for each and every critical position. If it does, the entire executive level needs to be on the curb by noon.
Well said... and that being said, did SP haul azz cuz he wanted to coach elsewhere and take a year off? Or did he wake up one morning and thought about Mahomes and started hitting himself in the face? Or is it a dark plan to help the Saints with draft picks when he coaches somewhere else? It's not likely he comes back. He cut bait and left. And management dropped the ball in the guise of continuity. We as fans brought it hookline and sinker. In reality you do what the Steelers did when they replaced their coach. The telltale is the demand by other teams, or lack thereof, for Saints coaches and assistants.

Just keep doing what you're doing. That is a response from a loser who doesn't know how to run the team. We could win a couple of these next games because our division just stinks. However, I wouldn't count on that. Dennis Allen will unfortunately get another year since this is a family run business. But I don't want Dennis Allen back. We need a motivator!

LOL. I JUST got a text from a poker buddy who is a long time season ticket holder to the Pats. They wanted to know “As a long time ticket holder how concerned are you about the direction of the team?”. Billichik is on the hot seat. What a crazy sport.

There is very little energy in this man. Yesterday's meltdown was just as bad as the Falcons vs Brady. Critical play was 3rd and less than a yard. Why are you throwing a slant to a cold, nonproductive target in Callaway? That was ridiculous to me.

Critical mistakes in critical moments.

The Saints need better direction.

They'll give him another season, but they shouldn't.

Coaching is like cooking: not everyone can do it, but when it's done completely wrong everyone can smell it and taste it.

I won't sign the petition because the organization is going to need to figure it out for themselves. It's above my pay grade.

Bad teams find ways to lose, and thats what this team does, over and over.

It can be the offense fumbling, throwing interceptions, not establishing a running game, bad playcalling and going 3 and out constantly.

It can be the Punter shanking kicks or Lutz missing field goals.

It can be the defense playing soft, missing tackles, making stupid fouls. We've done them all and they still dont learn.

Notice how Devin White tracked Kamara all over the field and never gave him space. Our guys played off so much, Brady would be stupid to not check down, because they play off and then can't tackle.

Adebo has no place in this starting lineup, he's god awful.

Saints future - Team will consist of NFL has beens, and future hall of famer rookies(whom will be traded for more has beens)..... the circle is complete.

Trust me....its true.

So glad to have witnessed the Saints SuperBowl Win... Bounty Gate...and the saints players knocking the snot out of opponents. When football was actually football. Not sure, the play of today amounts to football of any sort. Maybe finesse_ball.
