I'm hoping we focus on the interior of the lines by drafting either a guard or defensive tackle

He looks similar to a number 5 that played for the Eagles twenty years ago.

McKee outta Stanford looks intriguing.

We need to take 2 QBs, IMHO, one late in the draft too.

I can see that IF we don't make a multi-year commitment to veteran free agent like Carr, Mayfield, or Garoppolo before the draft. In that case I can see a developmental QB taken late and using all of the earlier picks on other needs.

2? Naw, the Saints need to spread the love around.

RB, TE, G, WR, S & LB.

The only position I would double dip on in the draft is on the offensive line. Otherwise, like you said, the Saints need to spread the love around and try to fill some of our other holes that are glaring needs.

Only downside, the NFL does not always give you 5 seconds to read the field. Many of those highlights show 5 seconds timelines. Our OL better be ready to illegally hold legally or not get caught holding.

Well dang! Now I'm going to have to go back and watch some more of his film. He sure did look good for that 5 Seconds though.

3. Siaki Ika - DL, Baylor

PFF lists defensive line as the Saints’ biggest need, and Ika might be the best option available at pick number 29 or 40. In fact PFF predicts that Ika will be drafted by the Saints at pick number 40. This could be an excellent option for Loomis, making his combine performance very high stakes for the former Baylor Bear.

https://www.canalstreetchronicles.co...in-the-combine

He intrigues me as we definitely need meat up the middle. He needs to get his weight in order though as that's a chronic concern.

Losing weight and keeping your weight under control is not what New Orleans is known for. We are known for fat tourists and delicious food, which includes Popeyes chicken sammiches.

That's exactly who I want. Get him down to the 330-335 range a let that monster eat. Conditioning will be the key to his success.

Gervon Dexter, Florida (mid-rounds) DT

Stout run stopper.

I wonder what former Gator coach, newly hired Saints D line assistant Todd Grantham has to say about this one? Hmm ...

Anthony Richardson - QB Florida
Projected Day 2 selection

Not a pick I'd like however he could gain some "buzz" depending on his Combine and subsequent Pro day.

Colleges with the most invitees

Of course... GA, AL, LSU, etc...

THE Ohio St is a little down? SP can't be happy about that.

He’s going first round. The talent is off the charts. Somebody is going to take a chance. Definitely not Jamarcus Russel 2.0. More like unrefined Cam Newton. He’d be a beast in the Taysom Hill package.

Seems to me one of the great assets that we have, taysom hill, was just not utilized correctly for years and maybe it’s time to find the next version. The kid from Texas, R. Thompson, would be a player I would keep an eye on in the later rounds. Recruited as a qb but was put at rd when Texas had injury problems at the position. Big, strong guy and a team player willing to do whatever it takes to win. Remind you of anyone.

Qb's I like in the draft McKee, Haener and McCall. I favor McCall over both simply because of the int. ratio over the past 2 years.

Lukas Van Ness, Edge rusher
IOWA

Big guy (6'5), and plays low en route to the QB.

Late Day 1, early Day 2 predictions & scouting report.

Not even going to go check his WonderSlick. Not sure he has the gray matter to succeed at the next level. He has assuredly the physical attributes many drool over. Many just like him have success transitioning from HS to college. The NFL is a different animal. You don't always, almost never in fact, get 5 seconds to peruse the field for the open guy on everything play, assuming the WRs and TEs even understand how to get open.

The QB prospect Hendon Hooker is a guy I like ... a lot & he'll be available at #29 & maybe in the 2nd round.

The bigger question is if he's even on Saint's radar. If he's your man, take him & feel good about the pick.

That's one we don't have to worry about with Lutz' restructure. ;) He'd be on the books for $6.75 million in dead money if we replaced him.

What are the possibilities of drafting another WR in Rd1?

Saw a recent "mock" with the Saints selecting Zay Flowers @ 29.

I know we’ve interviewed him pretty heavily. Cam Jordan even tweeted we should take him. I think he’s a guy we have our eye on, and I’d take him at #29 without blinking.

Even if we sign Carr?
Their now saying Carr and the Saints have a scheduled interview in Indy.
