Bump ...

The Saints have a HOLE (David Oneymata) @ DT.

Definitely want to put def tackle on the list of possible draft targets. Too bad Javon Hargrave is off the board (Niners) with his deal today. The Niners will be STOUT again against the run in 2023 with this addition.

I'd still like to sign a guy like Malcolm Brown in Free Agency.

Saints are likely to resign him, Neaux?

Probably not but we need a veteran as well as a young dawg on the D line.

David O and now Shy Tuttle are former Saints.

I'd take a flyer on Jarran Reed as well.

Experienced, has the ability, and won't cost a fortune.

Edit - ** what is Sheldon Rankins doing these days  ?

I have no idea what the Saints will do @ #29 or 40 but DT would be a good start.

Brian Breese - Clemson

Mazi Smith - Michigan (legit size 6'3 & weight)

What are the chances Jalen Carter drops (see Ramz) to the bottom of the 1st round?

Well, now that Davenport is a Viking you may want to add DE to the list.

Cam is a year older, Davenport changed zip codes & Payton Turner has yet to prove much as a former 1st rounder.

Oh and we lost depth with Ellis signing with the Falcons.

We’re going to need one of those 2017 type drafts to replenish talent and get younger.

Replacing Dalton with Carr and letting the 31 year old Onyemata go should help lower the average age a tad.

Maye and Tyrann recently restructured however Roby is unrestricted & probably will walk.

AJ could play a role in the slot the way Ceedy did while in NOLA.

FYI

Just keeping the record straight.

I haven't seen anything either. But, ACL recovery time is supposedly 9 - 12 months. He was placed on IR in August. That would put him ready sometime this Summer.

Another player who should be back, as well, is LB D'Marco Jackson who should also be ready following his knee injury in camp. We can basically look at these two as first year players being added on top of this year's draft.

Especially those requiring multiple picks for that number one.

It's supposedly a deep DL draft. We'll see who falls to us at #29.

IMO those Davenport (huge reach) & Turner DE draft picks were greatly influenced by former HC Sean Payton.

I'm no fan a Dennis as a head coach, however I have COMPLETE trust in him when it comes to building back up this defense to compete. Specifically coming off those edges (DE).

Felix Anudike- Uzomah
DE

Kansas State

Speed-to-power ratio is good. Fluid to redirect & usually first off the ball with snap anticipation.

Rd 2 selection on most scouting reports.

Being it’s supposedly a deep DL draft, I wouldn’t be mad using our first pick on a stud RB if he falls to us… primarily Bijan Robinson. I went watch some video on him and was really impressed with him, especially his vision

I was hearing the other day that there are very good RB options that should be available all three days of the draft. And there should be several proven vets out there in later waves of free agency on the cheap. Just what I've been hearing.

What are your thoughts on a guy like Zeke Elliot? Dallas cut him earlier this morning. Servicable at the right price.

As for the draft, I really like the kid down the street from Metairie Dr .. Tyjae Spears.

I forgot about Spears…I would be fine with him as well. I think he could be a play maker, but I like backs that have more weight to pound the ball. Spears is 5’10”-190 and Robinson comes in at 6’-220.
I wouldn’t be mad at acquiring Zeke ether for a good price

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter was nine pounds heavier than he was at the NFL combine about two weeks ago and couldn't finish his position drills at Georgia's pro day on Wednesday.

Carter, who was once considered a potential No. 1 pick in April's draft, weighed 323 pounds at the pro day. He opted to do only position drills and didn't participate in other aspects of the workout, including the 40-yard dash, cone drills and other physical tests. Carter didn't finish the position drills because he was cramping up and breathing heavily.
