Most of us know how you feel about "Mr. China" however it's damn near impossible to do salary wise. Saints FO would have to consider cutting players just to consume the dead money in a trade scenario. Furthermore, with his injury history ... no team will be willing to deal him on a 2nd.

Armstead is here .. at least through 2018 ;).

Arden Key is just a mess all-around. Wouldn’t be surprised if he falls past the 2nd round.

Yep.

Can't believe anyone would actually want this guy @ 27. 4.85 is turtle slow for a guy at that position who only weighs 235 lbs.
Day 3 could be very possible.

I had to get in on this draft action:

R1 P27 DE Arden Key, LSU

R3 P27 TE Mike Geisicki, Penn State

R4 P27 DT Derrick Brown, Auburn

R5 P10 WR Daurice Fountain, Northern Iowa

R5 P27 G/C Sean Welsh, Iowa

R6 P15 CB Issac Yiadom, Boston College

R6 P27 OT Greg Senat, Wagner

R7 P27 DE Ade Aruna, Tulane

Tell Coach to come and take a look at his new big board!

I took Arden off my radar when he returned to LSU from his "hiatus" out of shape & over weight. You can't trust him ... especially in the 1st round.

FSU LB Josh Sweat is scheduled for a predraft visit with the #Saints, according to a source. The 6-foot-4, 251-pound Sweat an intriguing prospect, can play DE in a 4-3 base defense or OLB in 3-4 base. Had 14.5 sacks in college. Also had informal interview with Saints at Combine.

This guy is intriguing. He’s gotten a lot of late first round buzz since the Combine. His measurables are off the charts and he can play no doubt about it. Medical concerns though.

Lol.

Believe it or not, Coach "O" had reported Key weighed in as much as 270 lbs back in October 2017, then down to his target of 250. Now he's at 238 or so? His conditioning and nutrition appears to be all out of whack.

Red flags galore for NFL scouts.

If I had a choice, I would choose the athleticism of Payne over Vea. Some of the things Da'Ron did in the trenches for Alabama was freakish. His hand movement is good too. I think he will be even better in the NFL than college.

You never know how to predict who will slide down in the draft but if he's there at 27 ...

I keep coming back to Christian Kirk when thinking about WR’s. Plug him into the slot from day one and he and Mike will be deadly.

Yes sir.

Another guy who appears to be a "fit" in SP offense ... Dante' Pettis. He played on the boundary as well as in the slot. I think he would be a gem if available in the mid rounds. On top of that, he'd be a much better threat on punt returns vs TLL.

Keep on eye on him as well.

For the superstitious guys ;)...

Ramczyk - had a formal @ combine with the Saints.
AK 47 - had a formal @ combine with the Saints & met w/Payton / work him out exclusively at TN Pro day.
Williams - Pro Day meeting & dinner.
Lattimore - had a formal @ combine with Saints.

Man that's 4 draft picks from 2017. Now fast forward to 2018 ...

ALL HAD FORMALS @ COMBINE w/Saints ...

QB Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
QB Josh Rosen, UCLA
WR Dante Pettis, Washington
TE Dallas Goedert, South Dakota State
TE Mark Andrews, Oklahoma
DT Vita Vea, Washington
LB Leighton Vander Esch, Boise State
LB Lorenzo Carter, Georgia
CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville

You never know ... just saying :p.

This guy’s become pretty darn popular for teams who don’t want to draft a QB in the first round...

John Hendrix

Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta had a private workout with the #Saints recently, per source. Was also told he had a formal interview at combine with team.

Re: 2018 NFL Draft Prospects - Saints

Kyle Lauletta doesn't have a WOW arm some of the first round quarterback prospects have, though he's taller than Brees - most are...

But he threw three touchdowns with one week's familiarization of a Pro-Set offense at the Senior Bowl - that's impressive...

Usually defenses are ahead of offenses at those games - he gelled with receivers quickly and showed poise on a big stage his first run out...

If we'd signed Graham, I'd be hell-bent on taken Lauletta in the late third after taken DL Taven Bryan in round one (man, Im really crushin')...

Because defensive line is still the weakest unit for the Saints, and that includes wide receivers which are easier to fix in later rounds...

He's got cardiac issues - may not be the same issues, but if there's heart questions in a man at that age, it could get complicated...

Didn't we learn our lesson from Fairley? Don't spend any picks on Days 1 nor 2 on 'em with that going on...

Yes, but that's why he may still be there when pre-combine he was a top 5 overall. He's had doctors clear him since.

We get 5 years or more of him at the expected level of play (possible DROY) and it's a good risk to take.

Touching on the Arden Key pro day topic. I’m 100% with some you that we should NOT have him anywhere near the 1st round on our board. Ran a 4.85+ 40 and He wants to play at 250? What would he run then?....5 flat in the 40yd dash?...for a tweener edge rusher? NO THANKS. Mix in the questionable character and thats just terrible. I dont see how any team could have him on their board in the 1st. With that said...there is talent there and the Saints are obviously doing their due diligence. Curious how his draft weekend turns out.
