Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

Players I will cheer if Saints pick them at #24 in the draft Thursday. Who knows if these guys will be there, but this is the range they are predicted.

LB Kenneth Murray
LB Patrick Queen (though I worry his frame is small for the NFL)
CB Trevon Diggs ( I like him more than others, I think. His height and length are rare for a CB. Because he's long, he looks slower than he plays, and I think that works to his advantage. Also like how he watches the ball so much.)
OT Andrew Thomas

I'm liking these:

No. 88 (R3, 24) LB Logan Wilson, Wyoming; Height: 6' 2", Weight: 241 lbs.
No. 88 (R3, 24) C/G Tyler Biadasz, Wisconsin; Height: 6' 4", Weight: 314 lbs.
No. 88 (R3, 24) TE Cole Kmet, Notre Dame; Height: 6' 6", Weight: 262 lbs.
No. 88 (R3, 24) DE Kenny Willekes, Michigan St; Height: 6' 3", Weight: 262 lbs.

No. 130 (R4, 24) LG Logan Stenberg, Kentucky; Height: 6' 6", Weight: 317 lbs.
No. 130 (R4, 24) TE Harrison Bryant, Florida Atl; Height: 6' 5", Weight: 243 lbs.
No. 130 (R4, 24) WR Antonio Gibson, Memphis; Height: 6' 0", Weight: 228 lbs.
No. 130 (R4, 24) LG Ben Bredeson, Michigan; Height: 6' 5", Weight: 315 lbs.
No. 130 (R4, 24) LB Cam Brown, Penn St; Height: 6' 5", Weight: 233 lbs.

So, clearly hoping we trade down for 3rd and 4th round extras. Which we won't, as usual.

Liking C/G Biadasz and TE Kmet so much I'm taking them in the 2nd in my mocks. (A 2nd we don't have)

And as much as I love the fit of A.J. in New Orleans, if we could trade back and get 3-4 picks in the Top 75, that'd be great!

I know Tyler isn't a sexy pick but I'd be elated if we drafted him. This guy has been coached up, he's intelligent, doesn't miss many assignments and he went to Wisconsin :p.

We need more dawgs on the Oline. Warford could be gone after next season and Peat is ... well he's Peat.

Chatting with some of the Saints Media Guys, some of those guys think he could go as high as the third round...

He had a great combine, both testing, interviews, workout...

Plus one!

I'd be glad if we took at least one offensive lineman from Wisconsin or Iowa every draft...

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

I've been reading a lot lately of the connection between the Saints and Jordyn Brooks, LB from Texas Tech. Looking at some highlight packages, I like what I see against the ground game. There isn't much content in regards to pass coverage, though. He would be an upgrade from most of our LB corps, in my opinion. He has good instinct to maneuver his way through the line to the ball carrier, and keeps his eyes on the ball. He has sideline to sideline speed, power on impact, and good tackling technique.

IDK Turbo ... being kind of lost in space playing Big 12 ball is one thing but in the NFL? Totally different animal. His negatives is that he "disappeared" against the better competition & is poor in coverage.

I think I'd pass on Jordyn especially with the likes of Mike Nolan gone.

For all of you Wonderlic followers ... Jordyn scored a 10.

Ooof. Yeah, that worries me. I knew there was a reason they didn't have any coverage film.

There's always a guy from our draft team's favorite school. If only we had a second round pick.

Harrison is a dawg all day. 3rd round? Yes please.

I always believe that the meat and potatoes of the draft are primarily found in the middle rounds. Any player with legit talent that comes from "Thee" Ohio State ... I'm sure the Saints are watching and scouting.

The Wyoming LB and a WR … and maybe even a running back.

Day 2, 3 is where you can find a lot of talent and contributors.

I said a few weeks ago, a lot of scouts had DE AJ Epenesa falling to RD2. Well, he's still on the board.

At one point I had him in my 1st round group; not crazy about RBs in the first round, but could see Payton doing it. And I do believe Clyde will be that good...

But now the Chiefs have him - oof!
