FWIW, several mocks being published have him going at the back-end of the second round now; it will be interesting to see how teams approach and manage the draft under these circumstances...

The prospects with the shady medical questions are the ones who will see their draft stock plummet unless a team already has good information on their medical outlook...

I'm on the record as loving Mims as WR and Claypool as a Jared Cook type TE.

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

Denzel Mims would probably get a lot more "hype" if he went to a bigger named football program.

He ran a stupid 40 time at the combine, good broad jump but his Baylor game tape tells the true story. Solid blocker & has terrific hands as I like to say of Mike Thomas they are "violent".

I think Mims is gone Day 1, but definitely no later than Day 2 for sure.

I'm starting to agree with a lot of scouts .. the 2020 WR class is DEEP all the way to round 3 & 4.

Yeah, way back before the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Bowl, Mims had a fourth/fifth round grade, which I felt was too low and made an ideal target for us...

Since, his stock has blown up; but then I read this NFL.com scouting report, laughed, and now shared...

Maybe I should retract my previous statement

I think Mims will become a much better Pro WR than 3quan Smith.

Okay, so if A.J. is there, it'd be tough, but I'd take him before Jalen Reagor, now that we've Emmanuel Sanders in the Black and Gold; all things being equal, take Jim Finks' advice and take the bigger player...

That said, Antonio Gibson could fall to Round 3, and that's where I'd pull the trigger with him...

We're all valid and all have valid opinions; and who's to say Lance Zierlein is right; heck, I kept arguing with some of the Saints Media guys that Onyemata would be kept (and they're paid to know better than me)...

Just posted it because of the humourous irony - and thought of my Bro and how he'd have to grin when seeing it...

Keep an eye on Memphis WR/RB Antonio Gibson; another Steve Smith-type of WR...

I'm not certain that Epenesa is even on the last "short list" draft board but IMO he needs to be. He could fall to us.

Guys not named Cam Jordan (played hurt 4 games & in the w/c game) are question marks getting to the QB ... specifically in post season. Once the playoff starts, better pack your pass rushers. If you want to make serious SB run ... gotta get some goons here.

BTW, Clay Matthews, Everon G and Golden are still out there in Free Agency land.

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

Like Madabike more than Gallimore who I was high on early, but rewatched a couple of games and see some, limitations...

Another DT sleeper guy to keep an eye on is out of UArkansas, McTelvin Agim - he was a big defensive end who made the switch to DT3 his senior year...

He's okay against the run, still learning how to two-gap defend, but he can get after the passer and has three complementary plus-moves...

He'd be a good DT3 to develop behind Onyemata and can replace Rankins if he leaves (likely) after this year...

Akeem Davis-Gaither - LB Appalachian St.

We have Demario, then a lot of question marks/injured guys at linebacker. If this kids plays at North Carolina instead of App State, he's a top 5 draft prospect at his position. The last "small school" prospect that checked a lot of boxes at LB was Colts Darius Leonard (SC State). 2nd round selection and All Pro within 2 years.

Akeem-Davis Gaither could be anther sleeper draft pick.

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

Lance Zierlein compares FAU TE Harrison Bryant to George Kittle, and I can see why watching his highlights...

Worth noting that he played for Lane Kiffin, who's good at developing players for The Show...

When watching, watch his physicality, reliable hands, NFL-route running, red zone awareness, and even some nasty competitiveness (bodychecks a safety after hard tackle)...

Moving him up a round on my list despite his size...

I really wish I could get some insight on how the coaches view our LB situation and particularly Anzalones future. I feel like if Kenneth Murray is on the board at 24 then hell be the pick. I think well value Murray over Patrick Queen because of Murrays prototypical size, experience and the ease in which he could play all three LB spots.

Murray reminds me of Stephone Anthony - checks off the boxes in athleticism, but the instincts are askew; and there's something not right about his interviews...

Like Patrick Queen more, but a) will Sean Payton take a LSU player? and, b) Queen is only 6' 0" tall and that'll lack of length will be a liability, especially for a first round pick...

On the Queen, Murray debate if they both are there at #24, take neither.

The only guy in the 1st round I'd want at LB is Isiah Simmons. Would much rather wait until the third rd and select a linebacker. Even before we selected Stephone, I thought it was a reach in the 1st.

Remember, coach Mike Nolan is gone.

Remember, coach Mike Nolan is gone.

Another point, as much as it pains me, but big LBers are going the way of the dinosaur in today's game...

Linebackers in contemporary 4-3 defenses are more of your big Joey Browner Strong Safeties of the past...

And we've got a lot of cap committed to an elite LBer in Demario, so when we go nickel/dime, do you really want a first round pick on the sideline?

So you'd want to commit your first round pick and not another pick until late on Day 2 to a LBer that flashed mid-late season, and I'd agree impressively, but for only one season?

Now here's a guy we can bring on behind Anzalone this season; should be there Day 3, maybe late Day 2 if LBers start coming off the board; smart, led an elite defense, creates FFs...

Definitely liking these Cavaliers...

Some of this is overlap, but this edit has a few more plays showing blitz plays and him blowing up bubble screens solo...
