Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
All depends on who we keep but I've only looked at rb's so far. If Brees stays (I think he will) we will definately need to have a top notch D with a monster run game. Deep ball want be there as the season goes on. O-line help is a must because he can't scramble as well as he used to.

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
College guys I watched that got me hard -
Gophers WR Tyler Johnson Buckeyes RB JK Dobbins Sooners WR CeeDee Lamb Longhorns WR Duvernay Tigers QB Burrow Gophers DB Winfield Jr Hawkeyes DE Epenesa LSU Tigers DE Chiasson Buckeyes CB Okudah Nittany Lions TE Friermuth, but he's probably a year away |
Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
Guard - Big NEED
LB - an assassin who can get to those edges with bad intentions. Demario needs help. WR - slot (don't like Deonte here. He's TOO VALUABLE ON S/T) CB |

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
Been giving this some thought about Payton's reluctance to employ Murray more in the Saints' running game...
And I think I've identified the problem - Murray left too much meat on the bone, that is was knocked off balance and fell down in secondaries... Payton is a perfectionist, and wants to hit a home run on every single play, that's why Ingram saw the ball so much in the 2017 run, because he kept ripping off those long @ss runs, what he was drafted... Now, for me, while Murray did fall down a few times, I'd still prefer eight yards and a cloud of dust along with 0:50 secs of ball control per play, but Payton wants to run a fast-break offense, still doesn't get it... Which circles me back to why'd we let Ingram go and sign and more expensive Murray, when we'd had the money to upgrade, desperately needed, Z-WR in Ted Ginn?!? Enter Wisconsin Jonathan Taylor or LSUs Clyde E'Claire; Taylor has that big play ability, E'Claire is more of Pierre Thomas; don't be surprised if Payton makes a move in the draft for either... |
Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
We've seen enough games for years now to know it won't matter who the RB is in New Orleans as long as Sean is calling plays.
He will simply not embrace the notion of staying committed to running the football. It's not who he is as a play caller. |

I also wouldn't mind drafting Navy QB Malcolm Perry and seeing what he could do for us. He looked special in that Army-Navy game.

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
Thank you for the tips, JeanPierre. I've seen none of them play but intrigued by:
C/RG Tyler Biadasz, Wisconsin; Height: 6' 3"; Weight: 316 lbs. Like he's only 6'3" (maybe he'll fall over that). If he ever played next to Ramz then I'd bump him up. Would have a head start on chemistry the OL thrives on. Wonder if his name is (or will be) pronounced Badass? LG/RG Ben Bredeson, Michigan; Height: 6' 5"; Weight: 325 lbs. Like the weight and capability to play both Guard positions...just where we're weakest. DL Nick Coe, Auburn; Height: 6' 5"; Weight: 291 lbs. Wonder if he could be a DE in the Cam Jordan size/strength realm. DL Leki Fotu, Utah; Height: 6' 5"; Weight: 335 lbs. We have needed a BIG ugly in the middle for many years. Why don't we finally stop the runs up the middle already? |
Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
This is my favorite thread. I will spend months here learning about our deficiencies and who we like to fix them. We've got some good talent evaluators on the bng. Although, I was talking about this subject yesterday and I couldn't help but saying that I miss Hagan every year at this time.
Sometimes I just stare and wonder why? I loved his Avatar. |

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
Just get new guards from Wisconsin.
...and I thought you were supposed to devalue an RB coming from that system, because of the high quality of line they are usually running behind?! |

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
It’s pretty much Tyler Biadasz or Justin Jefferson in the first round.
|
Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
Justin went to the wrong college so I'm not gonna get my hopes up @ WR.
I like CeeDee Lamb. Getting destroyed by LSU left a bad taste in his mouth and I'm sure he wants to show his worth at the next level. I get he played in the Big 12 (swiss cheese D) but his route running is very good and has those "mean" hands. We need more WR's not named Michael Thomas to go get those 50/50 balls. Not a burner but his ability to run crisp routes makes up for it. He could fall to the end of the 1st rd. |

All correctable at the next level. In the grand scheme of things, Saints will draft a guy that many of us won't mention here in the off season. I didn't expect us to draft Ramz, Latt or Davenport so hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised in April regardless of position. |

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects
All this projecting is great but at the end of the day we will have traded 2 first round picks to move up and get a developmental “raw” player that has “freak athleticism”.

I'm also a big believer in CeeDee's talent. It was not just bad Big 12 defenses, he really has the skills IMO. His RAC is extraordinary and he can run routes well enough to get it done. I see a lot of Stefon Diggs in him, minus Stefon's occasional attitude issues. |

In my head, was having conversation with Hagan after one downfield drop pass that should've scored, and I could hear Kev saying (JP), he just dropped a gimme for seven in a big game, I'm not sold... And that was an ideal game to scout him because of the level of competition; Lamb will probably go high, but in this deep WR class, can't justify a R1 pick on a guy who drops the ball in big games... Respect and Love Y'all, but I'll agree to continue to disagree... Speaking of Oklahoma, regretfully, Creed Humphrey has stated his intention to return to school; don't get it as a Center just doesn't get taken in the front half of the first round... Now I like Wisconsin's Tyler Bad@ss, and wouldn't mind taking him and moving McCoy to Guard, but Creed Humphrey has terrific size and could go to either Guard and start right away, and maul right away... |

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

Why would you want to move a guy (a polished rookie I might add) who was graded as the 5th highest graded center in the NFL? Erik has been good in both pass protection and run blocking. He had HUGE shoes to fill when Max left but this kid has taken on the challenge and accepted it well as a rookie. Leave Erik where he's at. |

Yeah I'm not sure what was up with the drops in the last game. It wasn't something he showed in most other games this year. And from my view, he was the only reason Hurts was even a Heisman candidate this year. A lot of those passing yards were CeeDee busting loose and making giant plays after the catch. |
