Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

Mel Kipers Mock Draft 3.0 has the Saints selecting...

24. New Orleans Saints- Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
The Saints perpetually have salary-cap issues, but they have done a nice job of filling holes this offseason, adding safety Malcolm Jenkins and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders while bringing back guard Andrus Peat and defensive tackle David Onyemata. This is a roster that should compete for a Super Bowl in 2020. Off-ball linebacker, though, is a position where New Orleans could get some help, and neither of my top inside linebackers have come off the board yet. Murray, a stellar athlete and tackling machine, is a good value pick here.

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

We've never had a linebacker pan out for us in the first round - just sayin'...

The fact that Kiper mocked him to us gives me relief...

Really, really want to either trade back for two 2's, or take the best CB, DE, WR available...

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

If he falls to us at No. 24, we've got to take him...

TYLER BIADASZ - G Wisconsin

If you ever watched some of those long runs by Jonanthan Taylor ... a lot of those running lanes were created by Tyler.

So you'd like him as a RG? Reminder some were gigging me a while back when I suggest moving McCoy to replace Peat or Warford as Erik's bigger and was being scouted as a Guard and drafting Biadasz to anchor...

Something tells me that Warford will NOT be extended. Probably won't be resigned in New Orleans.

Then again, I thought Andrus Peat would be a ghost in New Orleans once Free Agency kicked off.

Once Warford got that Big Mo', it was downhill from there; need to draft young corn-fed, rip yer head off types from Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska; cornerstone-type linemen you sign for ten-twelve years...

They may not be dancing bears, but they'll get you three yards and they'll neutralize pass rushers...

He tested poorly at the Combine Underwear Olympics - you gotta go to the tape and, to be honest, I'd be surprised if he fell to us...

This is Cam Jordan 2.0; he's not a speedy, edge guy; more a quick, over-powering, strong, hand-fightin' wrestler type who's gonna win a lot of battles...

Look at the tape and the production, it's there; and the flaws in his game can be fixed with coaching - and we've got that guy too...

No matter who the pick is at #24 ... I think we are in very good position to get a solid player for many years to come. Maybe even ELITE.

See Cameron Jordan.

Here is my "hot take" on our pick @ 24 ....

Saints will trade up and get a QB :p.

Jalen Hurts
Jordan Love
Justin Hebert

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: Saints Prospects

Lets talk some perfect team-prospect matches...

Panthers- LB/S Isaiah Simmons: Is he a LB or safety? Doesnt matter because the Panthers need both!

Falcons- LB Patrick Queen: The Falcons love undersized, fast defensive players and they have a hole at weak side LB. Pairing Deion Jones with Queen would be amazing for them, unfortunately.

Raiders- WR Jerry Jeudy, LB Kenneth Murray: The Raiders have two first-round picks and this would be ideal. High-character players seem to be Mayocks preference. Murray would slot right in at weak side LB with Corey Littleton in the middle and Nick Kwiatkoski on the strong side for a completely rebuilt LB corp.

Giants- RT Jedrick Wills: No-brainer.

Broncos- WR Henry Ruggs: Playing opposite Courtland Sutton with Drew Locks big arm... man that would be fun to watch.

Jaguars- CJ Henderson: Stays local for a team with a dire need at the position.

Patriots- Edge AJ Epenesa: Has the versatility to play the 3, 5 or 7 technique.

Ravens- LB Zack Baun: He can rush the passer, drop into coverage, or even play ILB if necessary.

I hope most of these players stay OUT of the NFC SOUTH.

Atl, Carolina and the Bucs aren't going to suck forever.

This guy checks a lot of boxes for me though. Sideline to sideline assassin, his first move is instant, sound technique & high IQ. Demario needs a young dawg alongside to finish off these RB and TE's. We still have a hole to fill at LB with AJ Klein departure. Could be a Day 2 or 3 gem.

One downside will be that itll kill the draft stock of a player like Laviska Shenault who has injury issues and had a limited combine that gave us more questions than answers.
