Problem is that he may have grown stale as Jimmy Garoppolo had behind Brady in his time with the Pats...

So is Jameis Winston or Mitchell Trubisky the next QB to get a deal?

Gardner Minshew?

Got news for you guys… Marcus Williams is probably gone. Lots of smoke around us going for Tyrann Mathieu.

While the idea of having both him and G-J on the field at the same time terrorising the opposition sounds great- the sensible man in me wants to see them sign a cheap placeholder FS and try to draft the next long-term solution as FS.

Although, if they plan to replace Jenkins (SS) with him then this could work well if the money-side somehow makes sense.

Sure if they win the SB its worth it. If they don't its not in my book. I am extremely sceptic against trades like that.

Interesting "option" but is Tyrann a Free safety ?

I would have preferred him in New Orleans 4 years ago.

I get you, but it is very similar to the moves that the Rams made trading away multiple first round picks and players for Stafford, Jalen Ramsey, and Von Miller in an "all in" move. The NFL is a copycat league.

I'm concerned with what we're going to do at LT. We may need to re-think our draft strategy.

Same.

"If" we lose Armstead in Free Agency, I don't think moving Ramz over to LT is a given either. For me, Peat isn't an option at RT.

Scouts have been saying that this is a solid group for offensive lineman so maybe we draft one early to mid rounds perhaps.

At least now we have a proven O line coach (DougM) who can help provide a more in depth analysis of our needs in the trenches.

But to your point, drafting a LT is real possibility.

This is what happens when being over the cap hell year after year catches up to you. I've been told it's not really a problem though so we'll see.

Apparently around a quarter of his snaps were as him lining up as a FS this past season.

He a DB. You can line up pretty much anywhere. I wouldn’t necessarily use him as a center fielder like Marcus Williams though.

That's what I'm getting at.

Marcus has incredible range. I'd hate to lose him but if he gets paid elsewhere, I'll understand.

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

Honey Badger doesn't have the range of Marcus Williams; Honey Badger is versatile, and he's at his best as a NB; and he's quite good as a SS and a CB2...

But we've got to make the cap space to keep Marcus Williams - Williams is going into his prime and is still really young with a wealth of experience to go with that talent...

If it were me, I'd cut Malcolm Jenkins and Roby, sign Honey Badger and get best matchup of Tyrann and Gardner at NB and SS; Gardner was a great safety at UF...

Spend one of those third round picks on another DB, and you're ready to roll; keep an eye on PJ Williams to see if a market stays affordable to get him back...

Give Richard all he can manage...

As Underhill mentions in the article, we need a FS with RANGE.

Something that is paramount in Dennis Allen's defense.

Granderson and Dalton re-signed as ERFA's in addition to the restructures.
