Here's what you pasted:

Denver Broncos
Broncos get:

Sean Payton
Saints get:

2023 first round pick (No. 29)
2023 third round pick (No. 68)
2024 second round pick

Houston Texans
Texans get:

Sean Payton
Saints get:

2023 first round pick (No. 12)
2023 fourth round pick (No. 103)
2024 fourth round pick

Arizona Cardinals
Cardinals get:

Sean Payton
2023 fourth round pick (No. 114)
Saints get:

2023 second round pick (No. 34)
2023 fourth round pick (No. 104)
2024 first round pick

My point is that you (and others) keep referring to a "more reasonable" compensation package aka other than multiple 1sts.

I stand by my original statement - "Sean Payton is a generational HC who is worth MULTIPLE first round picks, plus plus".

Anything else IS A LESSER OFFER. And should not be accepted.

I don't care what Bruce Arians went for. He's a has been who has Payton Manning and Tom Brady to thank for his success.
Then you think the Saints should shoot themselves in the foot and take nothing while Payton happily returns to Fox for two more years. He has already said that the chances of his doing just that is "7" on a scale of 1 to 10.

The Saints are not getting multiple 1st's. They have little to no leverage. If Payton wasn't involved in the decision then they would have leverage. However, the entire decision on where to go if he goes anywhere at all is totally up to Payton.

You say Sean Payton is generational. Well, many would argue that a #2 or #3 pick in the draft is generational, as well. Twelve Super Bowls have been won since Payton won his. It can also be argued that any one of those head coaches could be considered just as generational as is Payton.

Guido, you and I differ on this. You're fine with less of a return than I am.

Let's see what happens.

Once again, believe me, I would absolutely love multiple firsts including #2 or #3. I'm just laying the groundwork that the front office isn't to blame if it turns out to be less than that.

There's an old saying that my great grandfather used to share all the time.

"It's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick."

Meaning sometimes it's better to get a little something rather than nothing.

3. QB WILL LEVIS, KENTUCKY
Levis has tools for days. Quick release, howitzer arm, legit rushing ability — Levis has it all. And unlike most quarterbacks billed for their tools at the collegiate level, Levis isn’t far off from being able to operate an NFL offense because he’s been doing it the last two years under current (Liam Coen) and former (Rich Scangarello) NFL offensive coordinators.

4. QB C.J. STROUD, OHIO STATE
Stroud will get the “Ohio State quarterback” knock, given the success of his predecessors, but he operates the position differently than Dwayne Haskins and Justin Fields did. He’s a pure pocket passer who’s been tremendous at avoiding sacks over his career, with only a 12.7% pressure-to-sack conversion rate.

That would be great! Not expecting it, however. I hope I'm wrong.

He ain't posturing, he wants to coach. Unless Loomis is an idiot he should try to prison rape who Payton really wants to go to. No other coach out there including McVay comes close to Paytons skill set. The entire NFL knows this. I get 2 1st a 2nd a 3rdor 4th for him or he sits. Pony up

And if, let's say, Arizona tells you (proxy for Loomis) to forget it, they're not giving up their 2023 #3 pick. They tell you the best they'll do is their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders this year, and their 1st in 2024. If not they move on to another head coach and use all those picks themselves. Oh, and Payton says he'd rather go back to the cushy studio job paying $10 million per year and wait rather than taking a different position.

What do you do?
