He's very average from a size/speed standpoint, but Bolden is a ball magnet and doesn't play with hesitation, which is being noticed by the dozens of NFL scouts in attendance.
keep an eye on
Justin Simmons BC FS/SS 6024 201 4.59
Every year I try to keep a player as a surprise and .. well I guess I need to find another. Simmons was a solid enforcer for the golden eagles. good football IQ and a leader of one of the better defenses in 2015. Here is a player that could turn out to be a shocker when all said and done. He is your typical BC player. No none sense lunch pail toting fundamentally sound player. Do not buy into the CB position right now he is a long way away from being ready to play there right now. But as a safety he has all the skill sets one is looking for. vastly under rated.
Rotoworld's Josh Norris and CBS Sports' Dane Brugler both think. Brugler specifically says Simmons's best position in the NFL is free safety, calling the Eagles' star "fast and decisive in all directions, closing with purpose in coverage and as a run defender."
Here is were I go against the media, I think he fits the mold of a modern day SS in the pass happy NFL. As a safety with a solid combine he could go mid-second day and be a draft day shocker, maybe Day 3 at this point in time and I believe he would have to have a really bad showing all together to go as a UDFA. If he did he would be on speed dial 1. The kid is clean and i will go as far as saying resign FA safeties would be a mute issue
Key catch phrases
tackling machine, takes great angles, deep cover safety with good range, ball skills, and smarts on the back end. Typical BC kid: smart and disciplined vastly under rated
Bolden and Simmons sound good. A good SS could definatly boost the backfield, I'm not a Vaccarro fan.
