Naw,

Eric is a very good play caller & worthy of a HC opportunity somewhere. He's put in his dues. Especially when you consider guys who like Kliff Kingsbury (had a losing record at Tech) & Matt Rhule (Baylor - barely .500 win %) are already NFL Head Coaches .

Who is Pete ? Lol ... maybe Carmichael is comfortable in his current role in NO? Maybe Sean has blocked some possible interviews to save him from himself? Who knows.

Makes Sense - Installing Saints Passing Offense, Have fmr Saints WRs in that room to facilitate the learning curve...

That’s a shame... thought there was a lot of potential there.

Oh boy Gurley cut here comes the Tampa rumors

Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

The writing was on the wall when Kirkwood wasn't tendered the other day. I'm not mad with the organization at all. Our WR's core not named Michael Thomas need a serious over haul. Shake things up, bring in others to compete. Tre, Butler, Southlake aka "Lil" Jordan need to step up.

Brees doesn't have time to turn guys into Lance Moore and Slick Willie anymore.

Robbie Anderson & Emmanuel Sanders are still out there in Free Agency land.

I want Gurley. Him and Kamara would be potent. Two years-$20 million.

Clay Matthews has been cut, as well. Another money savings move (see Gurley).

Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

Gurley signs with Tampa I’m officially half scared. They have an aging QB with a 50/50 chance of being worth a damn and a RB that has a 50/50 chance of being an absolute stud or a non factor due to injury.

Why would be pay that much for him when nobody would trade the Rams for him?

Then there's the bad wheel thing (knee)...

Besides, when is he gonna see the ball the way Payton calls plays?

We literally were killing the Vikes in the playoffs with Latavius & Taysom trucking and Sean went back to throwing the ball...

Spend the money on a Flanker and another defender like a MLB or a boundary CB2...

Sign Emmanuel Sanders part II.

I’m ok with this... he’ll be on the bench with arthritis halfway through the season.

He’s just as valuable a weapon in the passing game as Kamara, but I guess we’ll have to see how Atlanta utilizes him against us twice a year instead.

As far LB’er is concerned...really isn’t anything left. There are definitely some solid WR options though.

The 2020 WR recruiting class is stacked as advertised which will drive the price down on Free Agent guys like Robbie Anderson, Perriman & Emmanuel Sanders.

Saints need a vet WR, then select one in the draft.

Keep in mind that too much turnover is as bad as not enough...

Perriman is my #1 choice - value
Sanders is my #2 choice

The Top 15 WRs in this 2020 NFL Draft are better than 80% of current WRs in the draft, talent-wise...

The rookie(s) that we need to come in need only have elite/near elite speed, reliable-hands, and run basic routes to open up things for @CantGuardMike, Kamara, Hill, Hill, & Cook...

Don't forget Emmanuel Sanders and Lil Jordan Humphrey will be in camp with a year of experience.

Right and I think you meant Butler ;). I hope he gets a fair shot in 2020. Bobby H and Pat Swilling were praising EB constantly throughout camp then boom, injured and he fell off a cliff & the "noise" stopped.

I fear we’re just going to draft some WR in the 4th round and that’s it for upgrades. Everyone will say “Yeah we got a steal” but the guy will hardly contribute.

Apparently he had a problem picking up the playbook and running routes. It was mainly due to his injury. Hopefully with a year under his belt he’s had time to absorb some of it.

Same here not trusting any camp darling or another Trequan Smith to be our #2

They must like seeing Drew getting hurt. Because that's the only thing Peat is good at.

Peat's been injured for two years. Coaches have to feel comfortable with his health and role in the offense.

So I ask you - Who ELSE are you signing?

ChrisXVI 03-20-2020 12:06 PM

Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

In all honesty, I’m not surprised because there aren’t many options. There are no guards available in free agency and it’s a bad draft for guards. We could have rolled with Easton but Peat gives us back-up LT ability too.

Exactly. I was actually expecting this when the few decent guards got gobbled up quickly.

I'll add this one little caveat about the Peat signing, don't think Drew doesn't trust Peat that he didn't give a serious discount on his contract as well to make sure this got done...

Holy double negative JP, so you mean to say Brees gave a discount on his deal in order for the Saints to be able to re-sign Peat?!
