Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
With the Colston news and all and reading about the state of receivers, I had to skip DE but will get to that afterwards. Here are the current top five projected in my preferred order.
1. Obviously we know he's at the top. And honestly it isn't close. He lacks some speed, but is tough and all the other receivers are either short or lacking in muscular build. He's not a Cooper or Watkins however, but for us he'll suffice. 2.Josh Doctson vs Minnesota (2015) | Draft Breakdown Josh Doctson vs Texas (2015) | Draft Breakdown Josh Doctson vs Kansas State (2015) | Draft Breakdown Josh Doctson vs Texas Tech (2015) | Draft Breakdown This was one I wasn't expecting to see. He almost made a case for the top because he did look more quicker than Treadwell. However, he's not in the SEC, he's less than 210 pounds(Wiki has him 190, CBS has him 201). But he could work with us because he's not going to be the number 1 receiver that draws defenses and if he does that frees up Cooks. He is 6'2(wiki has him 6'4) that's one positive, and according to DB he drops some passes. But again, he was the top option at TCU. He got hurt last year so there's that concern. If Treadwell does not fall to us, he may be someone we should try to get in 2nd round. 3. Small sample size, and looks quick. But he's 6'0. The only negative and that's a big one. He does not benefit us over Doctson. 4.Corey Coleman vs Texas Tech (2015) | Draft Breakdown Corey Coleman vs Oklahoma State (2015) | Draft Breakdown Corey Coleman vs Kansas (2015) | Draft Breakdown My issue here is similar to Fuller, he's short in stature. He looks quick in that Baylor offense. But Big 12 competition can be deceiving. He's also possibly inury prone. I'm staying away. 5. He wasn't even the number 1 here. So he lacked targets, and didn't break away well from defenses either. He also cannot pass block. But we should know never to draft an offensive player from a Meyer system. Draft Round 1-Treadwell Round 2-Doctson Do Not Draft Round 1-Coleman Round 2-Thomas Round 3-Fuller |

Only thing left is him not to run like a TE which I would be shocked to see
Doctson He is a big boy 6'2", with good hands, pretty good speed 4.50 and serious hops. wrist injury is my main concern but that appears to be healing well. Could turn out to be the best WR in the draft On the flip side his routes tree and discipline running it need some serious work. Freaking spread offense effect rears it ugly head yet once again. The ability to beat press/Bump and Run coverage are a weak point. With that said I can still see him going in round 1 but upside and football IQ? Is there enough there to justify the pick? I fear he may end up being another Robert Meachem. I am on board with you here |

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
Jalen Ramsey is the big prize in this draft IMO still but since he will be off the board. Safeties that know how to tackle and have solid coverage skill deep, in the slot and the ability to jump outside are hard to find.
So I am looking for a FS that reads a defense, fills and hits like a SS and has solid coverage skill to be an option as a CB. So lets look at boobie prizes at FS/SS/CB position can be had on day 2 and 3 R3 - Sean Davis - one of my favs and vastly under rated as a S R5 - James Bradberry - A transition to S might be just what the Dr orders for this kid R6/UDFA Mike Jordan - Still on my flying under radar prospects to keep an eye on. not sure a transition to S would be needed. I really like what saw and heard from the East-West Shrine game. why he did not go to the combine is beyond me. Now i have to wait till march 24 and his pro day to see if there is a reason why. 2016 pro days schedule - NFL.com On a side note, Javon Hargrave still looking impressive Darrin Lee a player at 12? not sure if I want to go there but will SP? Ok who is this kid? Stephen Weatherly OLB Vanderbilt 6’043″ 267 4.61/40, 23 reps, arms 34 1/2″, arms hands 10+” Vandy always has some interesting smart players every year. 7/UDFA priority project? gotta learn more |

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
Thing about Hargrave that worries me is his size and playing at that size week in, week out in the NFl...
...he's going to rolled up and out often; plus, would he be able to play consistently at a high level?!? |

Bad drafts, bad personnel moves and bad FA investments all contributed to it. Give me a solid DT and a solid DE for depth late. that is what I am looking for at the very least and that in itself will help this defense out greatly. That is why i keep holding to players like this in day 3 Adam Gotsis, DE, Georgia Tech 6046 285 4.88 Matt Judon, DE, Grand Valley State 6030 275 4.73 Anthony Zettel DE Penn State 6040 278 4.87 Quinton Jefferson DT/DE Maryland 6040 289 4.96 D.J. Reader DT/OG Clemson 6021 325 5.04 Josh Tupou, NT, Colorado 6-3 325 5.00 The saints must build a DL that is actively rotated |
