Noah Spence and A Robinson could both be available at #12 and I think they are elite NFL prospects. I'd even give Robert Ndemkemchi (sp) serious consideration if he is still on the board. Our defense has been, well .. anemic and all of these aforementioned kids will contribute early and often. Inside help is so desperately needed in NO. Beef up that middle.

IMO A'shawn Robinson is going to become a BEAST at the next level.

The 2017 Compensatory Pick Potential For All 32 Teams - Over the Cap

(excerpt) New Orleans
With all the Saints’ salary cap woes you’d think they would have had to let some UFAs walk as a result, but they always find a way to mortgage the future to keep their guys. This year looks to be no different, as their pending UFA slate looks bare. Potential: Very Low

Matt Judon, DE, Grand Valley State 6026 255 4.86

Definitely one to keep an eye on at the combine. I want to see his weigh in.

But the saints have a terrible record for letting late round draft picks develop.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

We had signed an undrafted rookie free agent in 2013 out of Grand Valley State, an offensive guard, 6' 4" tall, 308 lbs...

Seems like we really like to use ALL of our in-house scouts...

Okay, if I'm Loomis, In free agency I sign...(1) NT Damon Harrison (NYJ) and (2) DE Malick Jackson (DEN)...

So with a week out from the combine, really looking for these guys to solidify at these spots...

R1, S12 (Pick 12) WR Laquon Treadwell, Mississippi; Height: 6' 2"; Weight: 210 lbs.

R2, S16 (Pick 47) FS Darian Thompson, Boise St; Height: 6' 2"; Weight: 210 lbs.

R3, S15 (Pick 78) OG Sebastian Tretola, Arkansas; Height: 6’ 4”, Weight: 317 lbs.

R4, S14 (Pick 112*) TE Jerell Adams, South Carolina; Height: 6' 5"; Weight: 245 lbs.

R5, S13 (Pick 150*) LB Antwione Williams, Georgia Southern; Height: 6' 3"; Weight: 247 lbs.

R6, S12 (Pick 192*) TRADED (This pick with 2015 Sixth Round Pick traded for DB Damian Swann)

R7, S16 (Pick 232*) OG Ted Karras, Illinois; Height: 6' 4"; Weight: 308 lbs.

And it all starts to come together...

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

OK, I'm gonna take a stab at this...

Round 1 Pick 12: Jaylon Smith, OLB/ILB, Notre Dame
- You just don't pass on a talent like this. Let Ellerbe hold down the fort while Smith gets fully healthy and then unleash the beast.

Round 2 Pick 16: Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State
- Some will say that Johnson won't be there when we pick but look... Some guys are gonna have to drop.

Round 3 Pick 15: Joshua Garnett, OG, Stanford
- Former teammate of Andrus Peat and fits Sean Payton's love for players with NFL pedigrees. Allows us to move Tim Lelito to his more natural position of right guard.

Round 4 Pick 14: Keyarris Garrett, WR, Tulsa
- 6'4" and 220 lb receiver who I've heard called a poor man's Brandon Marshall. Will take some time to develop but Payton likes taking the approach of developing and molding WR's into our system.

Round 5 Pick 13: Morgan Burns, CB, Kansas State
- Honestly, I picked him at random.

Round 7 Pick 16: Tanner McEvoy, TE/WR, Wisconsin
- 6'6", 225 lb jack of all trades. Former QB and safety at Wisconsin.

Thanks for reading! I could be way off with these picks but I love this stuff.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

Mel Kiper's pick for us in his mock draft 2.0:

12. New Orleans Saints- Sheldon Rankins, DL, Louisville

The Saints are in the midst of a rebuild on the defensive side of the ball, and Rankins can be unblockable when he's at his best, with exceptional quickness and the ability to make plays in the backfield from the interior. A stellar week in Mobile at the Senior Bowl secured his place in the top half of Round 1.

Good Job, may not agree with all the selections, but good layout...

My favorite pick is WR Keyarris Garrett, Tulsa , but I'd bet he's going in at least the third round...

I don't like taking a first round pick that can't start immediately, sans, maybe the exception being QB...maybe...
