Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
Wow !!!!
Pats trade their best defensive player?! Bellicheck must have his eye on a serious player in the second rd of the upcoming draft. |
Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
After Olivier Vernon deal it will be hard to retain top players without breaking the bank. Stupid Giants!

Patriots made out like bandits on this deal...https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2...tSO/story.html New England got protection for Brady, their best player, and will get a younger, faster, stronger replacment for Jones, a problem child, in a deep draft for defensive linemen... |

Really, really wish we had a defensive coordinator not named Allen that'd run the 3-4 front and we could bring in Spence...
Perfect signing for a guy getting his health back and ascending... Sean Spence visited Jaguars, set to visit Titans | ProFootballTalk Stars are aligning for a 3-4 and I fear Dennis Allen is going to be Steve Spagnuolo 2.0 |

Our front office does same stupid thing year in and year out. Do they have a plan? Start below average guards, backups? start inexperienced rookies? WTF |

Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
Drew Brees does not care about the offseason. How could he just sit there and not get a deal done before FA started.
I guess it's true. We are waiting until 2018 but the merry-go round of divisions repping the NFC tells me we might lose to the cowboys 2017 postseason if GB goes this year(which it will be them, us, Carolina again, or Atlanta). That's why I want offense we just will not have enough on defense. |
Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
Come on guys and gals. The Saints are doing what they have to do as a team. Adding depth and experience are something we truly need behind young players. I still want an upgrade or 2 on the defensive line now. We can address everything else in the draft. The secondary will be so much better with an above average front seven. We will get there give Loomis time. Lauranitus is a great experience booster for all of the younger players and I would guess that's why he's coming to New Orleans.

New Orleans Saints salary cap space now under $3 million
By Evan Woodbery, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune Email the author | Follow on Twitter on March 15, 2016 at 9:40 AM, updated March 15, 2016 at 9:44 AM (excerpt) Newly updated NFLPA records show the New Orleans Saints with only $2.57 million of space available under the salary cap. The numbers appear to reflect all the Saints signings during the last week of free agency. It's not clear if the numbers include the restricted free agent tenders issued to tight end Josh Hill and guard Tim Lelito. Unofficial NOLA.com estimates showed the team with $4.06 million available (or $1.69 million when the tenders are included). The reason for the discrepancy was not clear... Saints scheduled to visit with Nick Fairley, sign Jamarca Sanford
Posted by Josh Alper on March 17, 2016, 5:00 PM EDT https://nbcprofootballtalk.files.wor...9192.jpg?w=218 (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images) Getty Images The Saints made the signing of linebacker James Laurinaitis official on Thursday and that may not be the only defensive player they pick up from the 2015 Rams. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that defensive tackle Nick Fairley is set for a visit with the Saints. Fairley spent last season with the Rams after four years with the Lions. Fairley played 15 games with the Rams last season and had 29 tackles and a half-sack as part of a strong defensive line rotation in St. Louis. He started 30 games during his last three years in Detroit. Fairley has also drawn interest from the Eagles and Jets since the start of free agency. The Jets signed Jarvis Jenkins and Steve McLendon this week, however, and may be out of the market for further additions to the defensive line at the moment. The Saints also announced that they have re-signed safety Jamarca Sanford. He appeared in all 16 games last season and saw most of his action on special teams.
