Owusu-Koramoah is the exact same size as Kwon Alexander with better man coverage skills. He’s an upgrade to how amazing we thought our LB corp was with Alexander because he can actually cover slot WR’s in dime.

It'll be moot point when Sean takes a WR...

Oh, of course, a second/third round DE...

Guess he'll be Cam's replacement, let the transition begin...

HOU Payton Turner...

Solid player, but he'd been there in Round 3...

I’m done man. I hate this team at times. What the f***.

His tape looks good straight effort guy.

Preferred the lb from ND though. Good luck with Jenkins guarding Pitts

Wtf. And we extended Davenport. Wonder if they are thinking of moving Cam for a good veteran Cb.

Look, in the first round, probably not. But we took a DE in the second round, Darren Howard, who ended up playing like a first rounder...

He's a good kid, well-spoken, and he's an athlete with size, length, and a 7' wingspan...

It'd be cap prohibitive without some really creative contract now that Cam's contract was already converted...

Gives Payton a year to learn under Cam and from what I saw of Cam this past year, he's done...

It's the right time, I'd done this move in the second round though...

Looks like Ryan Nielsen really has Sean's ear now...

Actually like this pick over Owasu, respects to Brother Chris...

Would have preferred Trevon Moehrig who I was surprised was still there...

I wouldn't be surprise to see him playing LB

Yeah, but now the What to do about Cam's getting older, breaking down, getting slow? is off the table now...

There's still several draft picks to go...

I remember saying that about Cam Jordan when we selected him & he turned out ok.

Lets see what he does under Ryan N.

We’re screwed. I guess Richard Sherman is our CB2 plan.

That's what two of the media guys I know have been trying to tell me - I was in denial...

Sean just seems to think players never get old - he still see's the CB2 that shut his arse down in the playoffs, twice...

We have 7 more picks XVI. Many of your ballers are found on Day 2-4. See CGM, Ceedy, Armstead & AK41.

Saints are fine.

Oh I know, that’s absolutely true. That first round pick though... man that was garbage. I’ve read everything I need to read and watched everything I need to watch. We couldn’t secure a trade up so we just threw something against the wall hoping it would stick. Totally disappointed.

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints

I don’t have an issue with the player bu we have so many more holes on this team and no money to fill them. I would have rather them trade back for more capital than to reach for a position that has depth.

LB and CB are way bigger needs than DE. We signed two DEs in the off season already that can offer rotational support.

Liked him before this interview, really liking him now...

I’m just happy we didn’t make a ridiculous trade up. Now we need either Tyson Campbell or Ifeatu Melifonwu in the 2nd round.

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints

I wouldn't mind a trade up for Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. It would hardly surprise me if we ended up with an Ohio State linebacker in the third round.

I'm so glad we got those compensation picks.

Ohio St LB Pete Werner in the 3rd would be fantastic.

It looks like it would have taken a trade up to get a CB and that takes a partner. We took what they determined was best player available. Sounds good to me.

I told y’all that was a terrible pick and Mayock is a garbage GM.

Mike Mayock went from being a television draft analyst to running a football team. Who would have thought something could go wrong?

If I was a betting man, I believe the Saints will move up tonight in the second rd. I see a lot of quality players still out there.

CB &/or linebacker … maybe even a WR.

I agree. They have the picks available to make a move ... or two.

For what it's worth, I see it's been reported that the Saints were attempting to trade up for Jaycee Horn. Shades of Patrick Mahommes …

Oh well, maybe we target a corner on tonight.

We've the same problem here - Sean tells Mickey what to do; there's no check and balances to make for a deliberative process...

Until Sean recognizes and embraces that he can't have unlimited power within the franchise, he'll continue to handicap his success on the field...

Whether government, business, football team, there must be a healthy set of checks and balances...

We got caught target fixating last night on a couple of the CBs, and we should've been working the phones along with others to move up to at least get Newsome...

Still believe Trevon Moehrig would've been the right pick; as I said before, Sean fails to see players aging, decline of skills; Malcolm Jenkins was/is a defensive liability...

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints

There are multiple reports they were trying to move up, creditable sources, all saying pretty much no one was interested in the 28th position. And had they package a first round next year I can just the response to that move. To bad we have a bad scouting and drafting group to go along with marginal coach who keeps putting us in the bottom 5% of the draft rotation.

I would be on the phone today seeing of i could move Marcus Williams for a early 2nd round pick to move him. Can't see how they can afford Willaims long term anyway.

If they liked Moehrig, or another safety, they'd have taken him last night when they got caught without a chair when the music stopped...

Marcus is a known, established quantity, with high grades to show for his play that doesn't bring a lot of BS to the locker room; he's all business, he's a good NFL pro...

I'm strong advocate for what you're saying, but in Mr. Marcus' case, he's the player I draft, re-sign, even extend for a ten year run with us...

What we can't afford is all the big contracts we have along the offensive line (e.g. Armstead, Peat) and can't manhandle teams in the playoffs...
