So Janoris isn't a viable option to return? He's up in age (like Sherman) but has been in the system & still plays at a high level. But yeah the Richard/Sherman connection makes sense. Plus Sean P has a lot of respect for RS as a person & player.

I for one hope we go corner in the 1st round. It's time to take lumps with younger, hungry guys. See Tampa/Todd Bowle's secondary.

If they aren’t moving Sherman to safety or something I’m not really interested.

Thanks Chris -

I wanted Awuzie as well + he has the Kris Richard connection from up here in Dallas.

Jackrabbit ain’t coming back.

Damn.

Losing Jackrabbit could sting a little @ #2. I'm hopeful we draft a CB early in the draft. Janoris played extremely well for us.

Does it remind of the the Champ Bailey signing?

That really stinks. I loved what Hardee brought to special teams.

Not really surprised to see Emmanuel, Janoris and Hardee signed elsewhere.

They are still very good players.

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

Losing Hardee is a shame but I guess with things as they are he was likely to get a deal elsewhere.

Going to be a few spots UDFA to really gain a spot in the team.

Really not sure on Sherman. His best days are gone and injured last year. And does anyone see him playing for under 6ml a year. Get the feeling Richards may just want him in to help implement schemes etc.

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

This just gives new guys the chance to step up! Plus, there will be players available as the offseason continues. Maybe they will sign a couple
Veteran hired guns for low cost that just want a title...like Tampa did.

I wonder if the Saints are looking to bring in anyone via FA at WR?

Kind of like Curtis Samuel to fill the role left by Emmanuel S.

Gotta do something. We’ve lost a lot of talent and added a fullback.

I really like Sanders and was hoping he'd be brought back. Janoris was good and Hardee was a stud.

So I guess it’s Richard Sherman or gambling on finding a starter in the draft.

Yeah, it was wishful thinking; don't get spending money on a 33yo Sherman...

Payton get's stuck in these OCD time warps and thinks players don't age and break down...

Plus, he seems to have a lack of patience, aversion to actually coaching rookies...

Ok so now Kyle Fuller, Adoree Jackson and Richard Sherman are free agents. Who’s the best option for CB2?

For the Saints this year, free agency is going to be mostly a spectator sport. At least unless it is guy at the minimum or close to it.

Well, Sherman is just really old, can't run for a full 16? game season...

Adoree is smallish, gets bullied - a lot...

Fuller has some injury history, maybe playing in a dome environment vs all those games at Soldier Field in the slop and cold helps...

Not going to lie, but I'd love to get Akiem Hicks back - could you imagine Onyemata and Hicks bullying interior offensive lines?

Matty Ice probably would go ahead and retire... ;)

It would be incredible. Hicks HATES us though. I’ll never understand why we tried to make him line up at DE.

I saw some banter between him and Cam on Twitter. Cam told him to come to New Orleans and he said hell no. Told Cam he should go with him somewhere else. I think there’s a lot of bad blood between Hicks and Payton or the FO. Money talks though...wait never mind we don’t have any.

That was during Payton’s square peg round hole phase. Right around the time he started to try and copy the Legion of Boom defense in Seattle in spite of not having a single player that would thrive in that scheme. I’ll have to say though I think he learned his lesson and takes more of a hands off approach with DA.
Speaking of, we are about to find out just how good DA really is. If he can keep this defense top 10 I see a head coaching job in the very near future.

Man... the Patriots really botched free agency. They gave big contracts to meh players to compensate for their horrible drafting.

I’m thinking the same thing Chris. All the fans here are excited about it though, so one side is wrong.
