I wonder if they have their eyes on any mid round OTs? seems to be where we excel in the draft.

Chris Faulk, OT, LSU
Bench: 25 Faulk ranked among the top offensive tackles in the country. season-ending torn ACL suffered in practice following the 2012 season opener. required separate surgeries a month apart on his medial collateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews has given Faulk the "no red flags" Dr. James “He’s the man.” Andrews The patients list: Brett Favre, Charles Barkley, Jack Nicklaus, Donovan McNabb, Drew Brees, Dwyane Wade, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz just to name a few it gets no better than James Andrews. i would not be surprised to see him go in the third now |

Don't think there'd be that much drop off from Ogletree to Collins and we'd get a hell of a football player in Barrett Jones... |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Adam Schefter ✔ @AdamSchefter
Chiefs are seeking a second-round pick in this year's draft as well as another pick in 2014 in a trade for franchise OT Branden Albert. moved it over here. Slept on it and i can not let it go I can just see SP and Andy working something out especially now Andy is in the AFC. they do go back together in the coaching past. So i have play with it so giving up our 1st #15 (1050) for Branden Albert here is the tricky parts 1) what is Albert worth? 2nd or 3rd round value? what? I am going to highball him @ mid second round value (420) (balance: 630pts) 2) Harper and Albert redo contracts we receive 2013 swapping 3rds #75 to #63 (61) 4th #99 (104) 6th #170 (24.3) (balance: 450.3 pts or #45 in the 2nd) ** Chiefs have comp picks at the bottom of the 3rd and 5th 2014 (option year) swapping first's and/or a pick to be determined (2014 and/or 2015) or 2nd and/or a pick to be determined (2014 and//or 2015) wont work? safety clause for the saints: and/or a pick to be determined safety clause for the chiefs: (2014 and/or 2015) now in 2014 chiefs should be picking in the top 15 baring one of the greatest turn around in nfl history. I am saying we win the NFC south and make it deep into the playoffs so picking in the the 30 range. Getting to the NFC championship game will be a hard road. if we can avoid SF and the seahawks on the west coast things look good if not the odds are not in our favor so i have over valued Albert IMO so swapping first is not really out of the question unless they tank it. But the chiefs are not that bad really. they actually can end up above .500 easily. so the pick drops lower. Means the additional pick increases in value. differ to next year increase that pick value yet again. it just gives both sides room to work and make the deal work. now if the chiefs pick after us they hand over their first |

NFL Draft 2013 rumors: 49ers, Dolphins, Vikings candidates to trade up
skip the dolphins they pick ahead of us - they may move down if we want to move up? aint going there - yet skip 49ers i do not see them dealing with us BUT there is this: The Vikings are still in need of a wide receiver or two, even after signing Greg Jennings away from the Green Bay Packers. They have two first-round picks at No. 23 and No. 25, but unfortunately for Minnesota, the St. Louis Rams are also expected to target a wideout and are selecting at No. 16 and No. 22. If the Vikes truly want to snag the likes of Tavon Austin or Cordarrelle Patterson, they may need to get aggressive. i do not think the vikes will want to give up both so add in a pick this year and bank roll one something into next year. if they do
trade the second one and get that second round pick lol |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
NFL Network's Albert Breer notes that teams in the top 10 picks are already making calls to bail out of the early parts of the first-round.
Breer notes that the decision "makes sense with the makeup of this class, few elite guys," many with late first-round grades. At some point, teams will likely not find partners to trade down, but a prospect like Tavon Austin could be a target from teams wanting to move up. Source: Albert Breer on Twitter |

[Updated 2013/03/29] R1(15) LB Alec Ogletree, Georgia R2 Forfeit R3(75) OL Barrett Jones, Bama R4(109) LB Chase Thomas, Stanford R5(144) NT T.J. Barnes, Georgia Tech R6(183) QB Ryan Griffin, Tulane Note: Would like to move into the mid-second round with a trade and ensure we select OL Barrett Jones, Bama allowing us to use our third round pick for OT Chris Faulk, LSU - a trade of a running back would be a likely scenario... :bng: |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
With all the depth we suddenly have at linebacker (that is not to say the talent level is totally awesome), seems like we might be able to make some trades there as well with a transitioning 4-3 team (i.e. Dallas)...
I really don't see how Will Smith will fit in our 3-4 scheme... Have my doubts about Junior Galette as an OLB (Jack)... And can Greg Romeus finally emerge from this terrible cloud of injuries... |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Since we signed Butler I feel that we're going to trade down for late 1st and 2nd round picks, take a Safety in the 1st and Pass Rusher in the 2nd.
1 - S - Vaccaro/Cyprien or Reid 2 - OLB - Okafor/Montgomery 3 - OL - Armstead 4 - CB - Mathieu 5 - DL - Brandon Williams 6 - QB - Griffin |

Trade away a expensive Guard for a cheaper option and a pick.
Not a bad scenario Draft Warmack,Trade him to Rams for there LT and a pick.Drop salary cap, gain a LT and gain a pick |

Their former Left Tackle Rodger Saffold isn't returning phone calls from Rams - CBSSports.com Rodger Saffold was the 33rd pick in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft; Saffold was named to several All-Rookie teams. However, Saffold was drafted under former Coach Spagnuolo; Coach Fisher, who didn't draft him, feels he is better suited to Right Tackle - more likely though they are avoiding Left Tackle money as he's in the final year of his rookie contract and are doing a short term rent with Jake Long... |
That's the Tackle I'm talking about. In the last year of his deal, obviously it depends on the money he wants.

British discus thrower hoping to make it in the NFL | ProFootballTalk This guy would look great with our other developmental defensive end kids.. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Im not sure
He has allready said he wont retire from discus throwing and wants to go back to it around 30.I think he is more interested in the money than the game.If he wanted to be a football player he could have used his track-field ability to get a scholarship and learned football then rather than now in his early 20`s |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Well, in regards to Rodger Saffold, I think the Saints should wait to contact the Rams at the end of the second day of the draft for a deal; we'd need to speak to his agent to see what kind of salary he wants as well...
