Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Toilolo didn't have an impressive Bench Press - makes me wonder about his work ethic as an athlete...
We no longer have a seventh rounder so he's a sixth rounder for us or bust... |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
It's not uncommon for people with long arms to struggle with the bench press. I wouldn't use that as a main barometer to gauge his work ethic.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Caught some of the combine re-run today.
Matt Furstenburg, TE, Maryland He's looking like a nice late round prospect... definitely earned himself a right to get drafted. Pretty good combine. Tyler Eifert(TE, Notre Dame) looks really smooth. Someone is going to get themselves one heck of a prospect. I can see what the hype is all about. |

i would hate to see the saints come out of this draft without a TE and at the least 1 OT. its to deep this year
|
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Dion Jordan weighed in at 248lbs at the combine today. i like that.
|
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board

250 lbs sounds about right, thankfully it wasn't lower than that. |

230 lbs scared me. He now only needs to add about 10 lbs. |

so many players including Jordan need to check out medically.
what i love is all the Alabama OL so far have brought up questions that sport writers saying hurt their ratings. LMAO i am back to what was said in the early part of the year. Barrett Jones is the man. |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Jordan ran a 4.53 at the Combine, thats FAST as hell.
Ansah ran a 4.62 which isn't all to shabby either. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
That shoulder issue sounds worrying though.
Hasnt been able to go into the weight room and had the issue over a year. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Apparently Payton is interested in Dion Jordan, just had him on tv with binoculars watching his second 40 dash.
4.64 And Corey Lemonier 2nd 40 = 4.53 |
Some real athletic talent these days.
Really annoyed we don't have a second rounder.Would have loved 1st Jordan/Ansah, 2nd Hunt |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
I'd be happy with either Jordan or Ansah in the 1st, as long as the selection is a step in improving the defense I'll be happy
|
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
People are now saying both Jordan and Ansah will go between 6-10. Lots of chatter Sharrif Floyd is going to be a top 5 pick. That leaves us waiting for Mingo's numbers. And what was seemingly not likely before, Damontre Moore and Jarvis Jones may join the conversation at 15.
Everyone is looking for the next pass rushing superstar. |
Damontre Moore managed 12 reps on the weights. That's disgraceful for 250lb lineman.
|
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
LSU DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo ran a pair of unofficial 4.53 forties, with a 1.55 10 yard split, at the NFL Combine.
Mingo showed a lot of burst and build up speed throughout the straight-line run. We expect him to test well throughout the day, and the LSU Tiger likely projects as a pass rushing outside linebacker. Just as most expected, all 3 of Mingo/Jordan/Ansah put up eye popping numbers. |

Is Margus Hunt a first round talent?
He moved pretty well for a 280 lbs. guy... |
He was a third/fourth rounder in December. Now beings mocked late first, early second.
|
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Quote:
Hell; Ryan could even move him inside when he goes with his 4-3 personnel formations... |
His stock has been rising since December. He is a amazing athlete and his 14 blocked kicks in 3 years shows that.People now saying he could be another JJ Watt.If we could draft down and get a late first,early-mid second we could potentially get him and another good player.Dont think many teams are going to be moving up though.

With all the defensive talent in this years draft; do we go D-Line or OLB in the first round?
|
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Watching this LB drills, I have to say Ogletree is not impressing. I think he's going to swallowed up at the second level and I think he's going to have trouble shedding blockers. I think he's better suited outside honestly... at the same time, he doesn't look like the type fits what we need for a passing rushing LB.
His teammate Cornelius Washington looks like a freak. Wow. Give Washington Ogletree's senior production and you're talking about a first round pick easily. |

Well, there's this conspiracy theory floating around - in my head - according to which Ogletree is trying to tank his draft worth, so that the Saints can pick him up with their 3rd round pick. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Cornelius Washington - third-down specialist in college
Drive and heart to play is the big "?" on him. take a flier on him and see if you can jump start his desire would be the thing. the upside is there without a doubt. personal interviews are going to be key for him i would think the kid blew every one away at the senior bowl too. on last question could Georgia's coaching staff be to blame here? there are a lot ways to put a player in the dog house. Or was it do to playing a variety of roles in Georgia's 3-4 defense see what i mean ???????????????????? they need to be answered |

2013 Saint's Draft Mock (JeanPierre)
R1 LB Alec Ogletree, Georgia R3 OT Terron Armstead, Arkansas Pine-Bluff R4 DE Devin Taylor, South Carolina R5 NT T.J. Barnes, Georgia Tech 6R LB Ty Powell, Harding Really Would like to see a Safety to replace Harper and with Malcolm Jenkin's upcoming salary hit... |

What are you referring to? Jenkins' re-signing? |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Quote:
First, Jenkins will have an 11mil cap hit next season... Second, I know this will fire the Harper/Crimson Camp up, but Harper blows...and so does Harper's coverage and tackling - he's like a Corvette that runs outta gas trying to beat a Pacer in the quarter mile but, oh, he can win the light duty class in a tractor pull... The sacks are fine but I would rather my DB be best at Passes Defensed, Interceptions, and Forced Fumble Jarring Hits...and be paid commensurate to what he brings the team...Harper at the least should be a salary dump... ...So that's why I say we need to add Safety Prospects soon... |
