Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting

My general feeling is to not sign Armstead, instead spend money on a free agent WR. Then, draft a Tackle in first round and a WR in the second. Just my opinion.

Jahan Dotson - WR PSU
Good route runner with hands.

Anybody watching the Senior Bowl? I have to say, QB Malik Willis is looking better than I expected. Good pocket awareness and keeping his eyes down the field when he escapes pressure.

You can always select quality O lineman in the mid-rounds. Two years later, the Ruiz pick still is a head-scratcher for me Rugs.

Looking at the last 2 weeks of the NFL playoffs ... every team has quality WR's #1-3 on the depth chart. Legitimate WR's.

Let's not ignore the WR position in the 2022 NFL draft :bng:.

True Dat. on the other hand Payton had Drew to make his receivers look better than they actually were. I agree that it is past time for a high pick to be picked in the first two rounds again. Thomas has proved that you can get top quality WR's after the first round.

To make my position clear - WRz has definitely got to be fixed...

What I'm saying is I'm reluctant to invest a 1R pick in one when offensive line is as bad as it is right now and we can't give our QBs time, and the investment in Kamara...

I'd rather see us secure an affordable, proven FA WRz like a DJ Chark or Christian Kirk opposite CantGuardMike, and draft WRs on Day 2 and Day 3...

WR-X (2) 13 - Michael Thomas, 1 - Marquez Callaway
, 17 - Kevin White (RFC 2022)
WR-S (2) 00 - Day 2 Pick, 00- Day 3 Pick
80 - Kawaan Baker (RFC 2022), 84 - Lil’Jordan Humphrey (RFA 2022)
WR-Z (2) 00 - D.J Chark/Christian Kirk, 11 - Deonte Harty (RFA 2022)
, 17 - Jalen McCleskey (RFC 2022), 18 - Easop Winston (RFC 2022)
Wouldn't mind seeing a Kawann Baker, Kevin White, Jalen McClesky making the next step into that 4/5/6 WR spot(s) either...

Would love to see WR Kyle Phillips among our Day 3 haul...

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting

Don't know if y'all seen NT Noah Ellis (Saints LB Kaden Ellis lil' brother), well, he's not so little, he's 6' 4", 359 lbs, and he's really been showing some tremendous mobility...

If he dropped 19 lbs, he'd be an instant upgrade for us at NT; and Saints have been known to value in-house insight on draft picks...

I'm still looking at S in the 1st. Then O-line then TE( possile vice versa), to many good FA WR this year not to take advantage of it. Maybe next season looking for a #1 WR in the draft, going to depend on how Thomas acts. If it's diva Thomas, yeah, if it's keep his head down and play Thomas ,no.

I wonder if in fact Kenny Pickett is high on the Steelers “wish list” at QB?

Or if it’s just lip service?

Mason Rudolph is not a NFL starter and Ben R has retired.

I saw some report from the Senior Bowl saying that the Steelers were crazy about Malik Willis. That’s believable. Willis has the biggest arm in the draft and the scrambling ability of division rival Lamar Jackson. I could see Mike Tomlin wanting to go in a different direction and getting a mobile QB.

With so many teams needing a QB this offseason, expect a lot of misdirection, disinformation this draft...

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting

Dennis Allen made a point of wanting to be physical and running the ball. Then we hire Doug Marrone- a man who drafted Leonard Fournette 4th overall and coached James Robinson in setting the record for most scrimmage yards of any undrafted rookie.

I have to imagine that we’ll be looking for a power back in this draft.

Fournette is a free agent I believe 🤔

CSP & his scouting crew weren't shy on bringing in "Thee" Ohio State players ...I wonder if anything changes now with DA?

IMO I'd hate for us to pass up on Olave or Wilson if they are available in the draft.

I haven't seen anything saying Ireland is going anywhere. He is still VP/Assistant General Manager - College Personnel.

Saw a recent mock with the Saints trading back to #23 (Cards) & taking Treylon Burks - WR Arkansas.

Honestly if he runs a 4.3 (where many project he will) at his Pro day/Combine, no chance he's there at pick 18 or 23.

Well, we don't need too much in this draft. We only need a WR, 2-3 O-line, a strong FS, a backup LB'er, another WR, a strong pocket collapsing DT, and maybe another running back or two. That's not too much to ask for is it? Make it happen Loomis!

Same guy that traded two first round picks to move up and NT Johnathan Sullivan sixth overall?

No, we need 2017 Jeff Ireland with no Sean Payton draft management and meddling...

I like his size. At 6'2 210 lbs he could easily put on another 15-20 lbs and still retain all of his speed.
