Go re-sign Onyemata and hopefully Ellis. Pair an IDL in the draft and watch them eat. Before the PED suspension Onyemata was playing well enough but after he came back he struggled to make an impact. Ellis will likely be able to step into a starting role if he signs somewhere else, rather than sitting behind DeMario Davis for a couple of more years. So, signing him looks less and less likely each day.

David O will be 31 this year anyways + it's time for the Saints to start the youth movement.

Our best players are 30+ ... Demario, Mathieu, Cam, Taysom, Hurst, MT, etc.

Do what the contenders are doing (Chiefs, Chargers, Cowboys, Bengals, Fins) with their rosters.

Shy Tuttle to the Panthers. Carolina is already a good group defensively, so this helps their depth.

I guess Davenport to Tampa is next :rolleyes: ?

The Saints DEFINITELY need to add some interior dawgs in the draft & free agency.

To be accurate, these are not official until Wednesday after the league year is over. It is not uncommon for the original team to offer up the same deal or slightly better and retain the player. Not saying that will happen here, but it does happen where the player backs out of the verbal agreement during this "legal tampering" period that started at noon today.

This is bothersome. We can’t keep good young talent because we’re too busy holding on to old dudes and ****ty contracts.

I don’t mind Davenport leaving because he’s been an injury ridden player. But just like Trey Hendrickson, we let Elliss go sign somewhere else after he showed some promise and he’ll probably be a rockstar.

And it’s the ****ing Falcons! ****!!!!!

I guess JW’s feelings weren’t hurt that bad. He’s coming back. As a backup. Now I’m starting to question his and the FO’s decision making. His for coming back as a backup when he was complaining about the organization and how he lost his job. And the FOs decision making as to why they would offer a contract to a guy that was complaining about the organization. What the heck is going on here?

Yup. That one was a no brainer. With our defense in a 4-2 front 95% of the time it's foolish to pay a backup LB starter money. Besides, it could net us yet another compensatory pick next season.
