Re: 2015 draft??
Okay this is the last list I'll do for receivers. These 9 in order from best to worst among these.
1.Chris Conley 2.Kenny Bell 3.Austin Hill 4.Titus Davis 5.Vince Mayle 6.Darren Waller 7.Stefon Diggs 8.Tre McBride 9.Dezmin Lewis The first three I like the best. Chris Conley, another SEC receiver that could be gotten later than first. Kenny Bell and Austin Hill were the next standouts to me. |

he might be getting a bit of hype build up but if you pick him odds are you are getting a player that groomed and ready for the show right out of the box. this is what you will probably get with this guy. he may not make a ton of highlight reels but he will quietly surprise you by season end what he has done. odds are he will rack up hurries and hits. but the other players will benefit from his play racking up sacks. In the run game he will be the stout one that forces the play wide or to end side setting up others to rack up the stats. he will get solid numbers but odds are his impact will go unsung for a long time but everyone knows what he does and will respect him for it league wide. he is just that type of player IMO. Solid all around 3 down type. of all the dogs he impressed the most each and every game. dare i say an ILB there, whats his name (?), owes a lot to him for his draft rating |
Re: 2015 draft??
every year we look for a player to root for out of no were. i may have found that guy
But the big story at the Kansas pro-day is the performance of a receiver from Pittsburg State. Gavin Lutman was a bit of an unknown to scouts as he was unable to attend junior timing day a year ago while Pittsburg State figured out his eligibility. On the field in 2014, Lutman produced 70 receptions for 1,196 yards and 13 scores. At today's workout, Lutman turned heads with his testing numbers. His measurements were 6-3, 214 pounds, and he then went on to touch 36 inches in the vertical jump, 10-5 in the broad jump and time 4.46 seconds in the 40. Lutman's 3-cone drill was a swift 6.65 seconds and, he was timed at 4.09 seconds in the short shuttle. Scouts were evidently beside themselves as to not even ranking Lutman through the season. Compared to Jon Brown, the former Pittsburg State star coming off to a tremendous rookie campaign in the NFL, scouts say Lutman, though slower, has a size advantage and is more natural catching at the ball. Re: 2015 draft??
Texas Southern
Twenty-five scouts were on hand for Texas Southern pro day, primarily to watch little-known cornerback Tray Walker, who did not disappoint. Walker measured 6-2 3/4, 189 pounds, posted 36.5-inch vertical jump and 10-7 broad jump. His 40 times included a wind-aided 4.44 and 4.51 against the wind. Walker also clocked a 4.05 in the short shuttle and a 3-cone, which dipped under 6.7. Walker has a host of official visits, including the Arizona Cardinals, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. [QUOTE=jjasso007;647591]Most recent draft with our compensatory picks
Round 1, pick 13: Eric Kendricks - ILB - UCLA My favorite (and the safest) ILB. Hope to get in the 2nd, though. Round 1, pick 31: Jalen Strong - WR - Arizona State Exactly who I want of those projected to still be at #31. Yes, excellent WR Round 2, pick 12: Hau-oli Kikaha - OLB - Washington Round 3, pick 11: Ali Marpet - G - Hobart I'd love this pick. Another small school stud to be. Round 3, pick 14: Efo Ekpre-Olomu - CB - Oregon Round 5, pick 12: Tyrus Thompson - OT - Oklahoma Round 5, pick 18: Xavier Williams - DT - Northern Iowa My favorite mid-round NT. I'd take him even if we take NT Shelton at #13! Round 6, pick 11: Jalston Fowler- FB - Alabama Round 7, pick 13: Jean Sifrin - TE - Massachusetts Don't know and haven't studied the rest, but (since you must be brilliant), I'll go with all you are taking. |

Re: 2015 draft??
Well, I'd love it if on draft day we packaged our 13th pick and Galette and move up to the 5th (WAS) or 6th (Jets) should Beasley be there, select VB and get a fourth in return...
Some mocks have VB falling as far as our 13th pick, however many currently have him going to ATL... No matter what "severe' means to der Kommisar, he's not taking ATL nor CLE first round pick from them - so we can put that thought away... They've got a good idea about the penalty and if it were a first rounder, somebody would've spilt the beans by now... I'd reach and take Eli Harold as he's the next closest thing, probably will be just as good, his development is just a little behind VB... It'd be nice to trade back with the Bengals and pick up an add'l pick, but here's the problem... Several teams (i.e. PIT, AZ, IND) that'd could easily move up from those spots and eliminate what we need - an elite 3-4 OLB with top flight pass rushing ability... Chances are, Payton will select DGB and envision having him across Cooks, with Colston in the slot in 3WR formations and pull the trigger... He'll have confidence in the Drew and the Locker Room getting this kid right... And for a few days, I'll curse our coach for not moving up to get VB or taking Eli at 13... |
Re: 2015 draft??
Really don't think we're moving back in the draft picking up picks as we've no room to sign that many players...
If anything, we're moving up, fewer players for the little cap room we've got... |
Re: 2015 draft??
Quote:
i would rather them do that if we miss out on our targeted players than reach, hope and pray with that pick. |
Re: 2015 draft??
Quote:
A desperation reach pick for need. we are not that bad off there to not pick a better prospect at 13 without all the hype attached them. Eli has a ton of it. i will go back and look at him but i really can see it much less a new TV if they made the pick at 13 |
Re: 2015 draft??
Actually, many mocks have teams taking him between 15-25...
And then there is this... 2015 NFL Draft Scouting Report: EDGE Eli Harold - Edge Defenders - NFL News - Pro Football Spot - Forums UVa Pro Day Report Eli Harold wows at Virginia's pro day - Richmond.com: College Football |
Re: 2015 draft??
look i like the guy i just do not see it in his game. at 13 ? i just can not do it. 31 is a reach in my book that i could live with,
|
Re: 2015 draft??
I'd be not as upset if they took Harold at 31, if they did it at 13 then the remote is going through the TV

Re: 2015 draft??
I've found a decent corner who should be there in the 5th/6th/7th... Lorenzo Doss - Tulane
|
Re: 2015 draft??
Quote:
Im not by any means saying Brandon Browner is a franchise savior at CB, but i feel with the acquisition it gives us room to draft front 7 whether it be DT, Edge or ILB. I say pass on corner in round 1. Plenty of depth in the draft to get a guy later & sit under Keenan & Brandon, besides i still wanna see what Delvin Breaux & SJB can do. Sean was just praising both the other day...i do really hope that Sean & Mickey's thoughts on SJB are genuine/real. Rooting for SJB. |
Re: 2015 draft??

he could be the biggest impact player on defense if he is ready to step in and log some serious time in the secondary. he does not need to take over on the outside as a starter to accomplish this either till he does i still have the secondary as a work in progress that is no where near completed, Collins looks the part sure but he has not played enough IMO to really get a good feel for him and his ability mentally to play the position. if he is of interest i would throw a third round option at you that is prett much the same type of player with less on the field questions: Josh Shaw USC. then you got the bobbi prize player that just makes you shake your head in Justin Cox, talent and head aches Lorenzo Doss - Tulane whats not to like really. but i fear he will not make into the 5th. just like Charles Gaines |
Re: 2015 draft??
Big contingent from the Saints at FSU today including Sean Payton and Rob Ryan. Lots of players there that we're probably interested in: Mario Edwards, PJ Williams, Ronald Darby, Cameron Erving... Jameis Winston lol. Just joking but it's a busy day for our coaches.
|
Re: 2015 draft??
Karlos Williams RB FSU i am still interested in. he maybe a solid late round type. some issues off the field but heck that is not hurting Winston.
I would move him back to safety. if you run out of rb in a game heck at that point he can play a rb. if off the field issues are not a problem ie no convictions, he could make some players in that crowded field expendable. heck of a special teamer to boot. lets see if he slips |

Not because the LBs were too small. Maybe that'll be the reason if the bad rush defense continues this year, but it was not why we suck stopping the run recently. |
Re: 2015 draft??
March...
Gotta disagree... I think we gotta stay with getting bigger on the defensive line and continue with bigger linebackers... |
Re: 2015 draft??
Reading reports from Miami's Pro Day earlier and there are two storylines: First, Sean Payton is in love with Phillip Dorsett. Second, Denzel Perryman injured his hamstring but no official word on severity yet... Some rumors it may be significant.

Re: 2015 draft??
Phillip Dorset 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds ran a 4.25 40 dam but what happens when a nfl safety nails him to dead stop at that 4.25. i guess we are thinking of quick screening the nfl to death till he and cook get knocked out.

Cant say i like the idea of another midget WR
We are in a division of 6ft CBs and massive WRs and we are getting smaller |
Re: 2015 draft??
Quote:
Gimme four Steve Smiths and I stomp your tall ass CB's all day long. And I hate that M***** F***** as much as any WR in the league. Most teams are trending toward big CB's who have more trouble flipping their hips. I'd counter that with shifty speed demons. |
Re: 2015 draft??
Quote:
Brandon Coleman 6'6" Marques Colston 6'4" Nick Toon 6'4" Seantavious Jones 6'3" Brandin Cooks 5'10" Jalen Saunders 5'9" Then you add the TE's and I don't think adding another 5'10" receiver like Dorsett would hurt. |
