Why draft Floyd when you've got a player in Schobel (Wisconsin) who was extremely productive in college at a high level (Div I Big 10) and will be there somewhere between the fourth and fifth round?!?

I've seen Floyd and I see him as a smallish 4-3 WLB at best that will be oft-injured because I don't seem him filling out that frame...

Really, really like Vernon Butler, but I don't like taking an unproven quantity in the first and he'll probably be gone by the time we pick in the second round; we can't afford to gamble, so I'd make the priority in Free Agency to sign Damon Harrison and have Butler as a Plan B/C...

Don't get the mocks having us take Alexander in the first; gotta be a bunch of Saints/Small Market Haters; Best cornerback we can draft will be a third round pick who should be there for us, Bayor's Xavien Howard...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

NFL ponders changes to tests given at annual scouting combine

Changes to the UnderRoos Olympics?!?

Personal preference is drills done in pads with few exceptions (i.e. Bench Press, Wonderlick exam, Personal Interviews)...

Definitely like Gotsis...

Like some of those UDFA...

Someone is going to throw out at least a 6th Round pick on Austin...

Ryker Mathews has intriguing size...

Can't see keeping Morstead at that cap number; not with that production...

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

with colston appearing to be out the door

Round 1
Laquon Treadwell WR Mississippi 6031 210 4.52

Round2
Tyler Boyd WR Pittsburgh 6015 200 4.47

Round 3 on is pretty much a jumbled mess and grabbing at straws. Who am I missing? looking mighty thin for tall WR this year

Paul McRoberts, WR, SE Missouri St 6016 202 4.53
Kenny Lawler, WR California 6021 195 4.54
Keyarris Garrett WR Tulsa 6033 221 4.64

Geronimo Allison, WR, Illinois 6021b 197 4.50
Hand 9 Arm 33 1/4 Wing 79

Devon Cajuste, WR, Stanford 6032 234
Hand 10 5/8 Arm 32 3/4 Wing 69 ?

Tajae Sharpe, WR, UMass 6025 200 4.48
Hands 7 3/4 Arm 31 1/2 7 Wing 5 1/2
Still one of my favs. IMO you throw out the rule of thumb concerning the hands.

Cody Core WR Mississippi 6205 207 4.49
Hand 10 3/8 Arm 31 1/2 Wing 80 1/2
the good the bad and the ugly but i still like this kid.

Well ...

A WR in the first is a lot more exciting than a lineman in the first, but I hope we don't go that route this year. SP loves his toys on offense though, so it wouldn't surprise me if we took Treadwell (assuming he is there at #12). We absolutely must fix our offensive line and defensive front 7.

I'd like to add a great young WR or CB to this team, but I don't think it's a necessity right now. Find a good OLB and DE and this defense could turn around really quickly. It's the quickest and easiest way to fix the defense outside of getting rid of #39 (post June 1st cut).

Side note - hadn't seen Josh Doctson's name thrown out on this board that much but I think this kid will be a better pro than Treadwell. Good size, great hands & decent speed.

In saying all of that, I hope we select a big nasty down in the trenches @ #12 .

Really think Laquon Treadwell could be there for us at No. 12, and if he is, expect Sean Payton to pull the trigger...

And it would absolutely be the right move...

Tulsa's Keyarris Garrett would be worth the gamble in the third round...

Stanford's Devon Cajuste was absolute money when Stanford knocked off Notre Dame and watching Kevin Hogan and Cajuste on those clutch plays reminded me so much of Brees to Colston...

Treadwell and Cajuste would be great fits to the Saints offense; Garrett would take slightly more work, but he's got a higher ceiling than Coleman...

All can catch the ball...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

I will loose my grits if we go WR in the first 2 rounds. DL and OL needs to go 1 and 2 unless there is a few surprise signings. Our DB's are much better than we think but because of the lack of pass rush they broke the wrong records. Snead, Coleman and Cooks can hold down the fort this year.

My thoughts are our needs go in this order:
DT
DE
OG
OLB
TE
SS/FS
CB
WR

Yes sir. Build the line. Create a better Dline and push rush through the draft. Of course also finally get 2 competent corners on the field in the same season. Get Lewis healthy across from Breaux and that's Greer/Porter.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

saints need a boring draft with just a touch of spice, I agree.

spice for me if medicals check out is Jaylon Smith. Been a long time since a true 43 WLB has come along that appears to be the total package. I can wait a year.

I do not see anyone else falling into our laps. Treadwell would have to run a 4.65. IMO he is just what the giants need to round out their WR corp. Chicago will probably steal the best DT on the board. The talent level for DT does not fall off the map in round one. after that I pray the saints trade back in all honesty.

DT later in round 1 would be my plan and I would ignore everything else. Unless Smith is there at 12 of course. Get picks! that helps a cap out more than anything else.
