So… in-house candidate it is then for outside CB. |

So the right move is to see the pieces you got for a week or so of training camp, and if it looks to be a problem, then you bring in someone... You've got two promising projects in Keith Washington and Bryce Thompson (bookmarked), and you need to see if Patrick Robinson can still run with the dogs... Now, wouldn't have signed Poole, may've extended some others, used 2021 remaining cap of $11,379,424 to start to reduce 2022's ($37,647,048) deficit... Because the cap is likely to rise significantly with a new television deal, but if the #WuhanPandemic doesn't teach Payton/Loomis to allow for #BlackSwans, oh well... |
Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Well, Vikes got another one (Westbrook)...
|
Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Curious what the final contract numbers will be for Nelson vs Poole?

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Hogan is literally playing professional lacrosse right now. This season is starting to feel very 2015-ish. |

Saints signed Chris Hogan...

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
I like our roster this year too.
O line is potentially top 5. Interior D line is sneaky good (more depth than you think) and boy do we have a lot to throw at a QB from the edges! Pass catchers - Callaway is underrated. Deonte another matchup nightmare. Then you factor in Kamara, Hill and Trautman... I'm a believer. Secondary seems patchwork. Not as confident here. Camp will show a lot but it feels like there's still another domino to fall. Special Teams shouldn't be a concern. QB.... prove them all wrong Jameis. I will laugh with you! |
Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Quote:
Callaway hasn't shown he can stay healthy; Tre'Quan is in the last year of his rookie contract, and still looks like a rookie; Deonte is special, but limited by his height... Until we see what Baker is all about, have no confidence in this WR group as it is; Trautman was an unnecessarily expensive, but solid pick and should do well... IF there's any truth to bringing back Brandin Cooks, who's on an affordable contract and knows he's an elite WRz, not a WRx (as Harris isn't), Sean needs to get it done... |
Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Don't sleep on Chris Hogan ...
Could be a chain mover in this offense. Was watching some of his film, has good hands, runs solid routes and has the ability to make the tough catch in traffic. Let's evaluate @ training camp. Maybe he sticks. |

I'm all in on this one! As you said, it can address multiple concerns at WR, JP! |

He's the type of player with an athletic ceiling, but he's maximized his conditioning and skills and he will always be prepared and where he's supposed to be... |
Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

Keep in mind our O line can be elite. If that hold true, someone will be open every play. Pass on Cooks. Big on Trautman (expensive....whut?) |

If I remember correctly we spent a third round picks up but we did move up and I'm not sure what the compensation was for moving up. |

Now Jenkins missed three games last year, and in no way am I saying PJ or PRob is just as good as Jackrabbit, they peformed well and the secondary wasn't the liability it was in previous seasons... I am as optimistic about this secondary as AG getting a tatoo of Sean Payton on his backside... |
Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Patrick Robinson on an island to start week 1 is begging for 6.
Bring in another vet. |

Latt will maintain his side however good offensive coordinators will target the guy opposite Marshon. PJ & old man PRob ain't gonna cut it. Again, expect them to bring in a vet until Mr. Mansfield (Paulson Adebo) is ready for the FT role. |
