I wasn't familiar with him. I looked him up and he apparently has an ankle injury that requires a third surgery. The Steelers are also in danger of losing a draft pick next year because they didn't report his injury.

IF it were the Saints, we'd done lost that draft pick...

MoFo did. That #BountyGateBeatdown crushed us in the prime of Drew Brees career...

My biggest issue with it all, just like previous comment, apply the f*cking rules evenly to all teams...

Guessing Payton really is gonna roll with Griffin as the Blocking TE-H (Big Fullback)?

Really surprised we didn't bring in another big TE...

Too bad. We all felt like LB'er was a weakness before we kicked off the season. Now not so much.

Yep. LB depth is pretty good right now.

What the Saints really need is another WR.

What's going on with Stills? Hogan looked great in camp?!? Harris has been solid. Is Marquez not able to be double-teams? Do we have to have All-Pro WRs for Jameis?

Stills just got off the plane to NO lol. He's ok. Honestly, Marquez is quality #3. He's not a #2 yet but he has youth and coaching on his side. You're right on Harris, baller but simply too small. He'll give you a good 10-15 plays a game but not a guy I want running slants or post corners. He's too valuable.

As for JW, he doesn't need All Pro's to succeed but having a roster full of undrafted guys who can't move the chains isn't gonna help. As Lord mentioned in another post, Brees had Cook/Emmanuel/Sprainquan, and Thomas. Route running specialists.

It's a good thing Saints have good special teams unit & defense right now.

But I've rambled enough :p.

Get your stopwatch out and let's debunk that right now, or just check the Time To Throw (TT) Stats from Next Gen Stats as only Lamar Jackson has had more time to throw...

Let's not forget that Emmanuel Sanders also admitted later in his brief Saints tenure he too was often in the wrong spots, wrong reads with the benefit of training camp...

Brees still had more production than Jameis NFL worst 128 PaYd/Gm; note: Tua Tagovailoa only had one complete game...

Acknowledged and understood JP 👌.

Time to prepare, redirect the focus on the Giants.

Keep grinding.

Not something likely to be sorted in season but the team needs to find some internal depth for the offensive line.
Far to many errors from Ruiz still and im sick to death on seeing Peat on his ass all the time and time again. That contract is probably the worst decision the teams made in years, even worse than the Byrd deal. At least you could understand that one.

Think the WR will be ok when Mike Thomas is back, him amd Calloway with Stills/Harris will do the job this season. Need another in the draft though as it looks like FA will be quiet

Different Take - Saints have good depth on the offensive line with Clapp, Young, Throckmartin, Hurst and Young; am more concerned with the starting guards...

Precision route runner & true pro. Hated we lost him to Free Agency but it is what it is.

They gave the Chiefs the business last night.

In an earlier post I cited Lamar Miller as a potentially promising free agent pickup. My wish was granted! Hope it goes well!

Talk Tua could be traded if the Dolphins get Watson.

Depending on the package i think it makes plenty of sense.
He's got no protection and was rushed back. I think he'd shine under Payton and is still on a cheap rookie deal with a 5th year option. Got to think if Winston plays well he is going to be looking for 25-30ml a year with tbe average QB pay, Tua getting around a million a year next two years.

Not saying i dont like Winston but the coaches don't seem comfortable taking off the training wheels.

lee909 10-20-2021 08:19 PM

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

Just looking at Sportsrac Market Value

And say Winston gets the higher end of that on the open market, the team will need to cut again to make space.

Do you re-sign Winston at 30ml and gut part of the roster to pay him. Or going by the market value trade for Tua and re-sign Armstead and Williams for around $35ml

Hopefully he can take 6-7 carries away from Kamara and give Kamara more opportunities to catch the ball. From what I hear Miller is an excellent pass catcher as well.

I'm hearing that Tua would most likely be part of the deal for Watson so he wouldn't be available to anyone else.

Now I’m hearing that Houston doesn’t want Tua so he may be part of a three way trade. Either way it looks like Tua would be gone right away.

Tua played above himself at 'Bama, and had a great supporting cast there; not surprised at his NFL performance at all...

How long did Brees have SP issued training wheels from whence he came, San Diego?

Methinks we'll have to be patient to see it unfold.
