Decision to release him was already made, Lawson injury happened later that day, was confirmed via MRI following that...

Crap timing, but after the way Spence played at BAL, he likely wouldn't make their roster in one of those conditional R7 pick deals anyway...

I wonder what the over/under is for picking up free gents after the final roster cuts. I'd say we will pick up at least two free agents that we have our eye on. Maybe three but that feels like a bit of a stretch

We're fixing to find out... with the temp shortages at WR as a result of injuries and suspensions, we may have to keep them all in some form. Johnson needs more time with Kevin, at least one more week.

Let's not forget that any vet on the roster gets paid for the entire season even if only needed for a couple of games or so. That will play a factor. I can, however, see us bringing in a vet short term AFTER game one.

I believe it was Guido who said that we are 28th on the waiver wire. We might want to start making trades.

That's right. In the preseason all waivers are the same order as the draft. As for trades, finding a partner will prove to be very difficult. You would really want a decent player when giving up trade collateral and I wouldn't imagine teams would be too willing to give up solid players this early. I suppose you might be able to take a gamble on a player or two for a conditional pick if the other team is willing at it might be a player not making the final cut. Pat Kirwan gave this scenario on NFL Radio last week where a team would be willing to trade a player for a 7th if the player makes the final roster. Otherwise it would work just as if they had waived him. In this case they'd have nothing to lose, but could get a pick out of it.

At this point I believe we need a tight end more than corner back. It's amazing how one week can make that big of a difference.

While the Eagles would take an $8 million dead money hit, they would free up $8.5 million in space. Not sure what they can do with it this year, but they can always carry it over to 2022.
