Yeah, we are giving Nielsen pretty much crap to work with this year and install his system. I'd be a little upset with the team for putting me in a bad position my first year...I shaved my legs for this? :p

Why do you say it's crap? I see tons of potential behind some very talented starters. Don't forget he made Hendrickson who was slammed for having arms too short to play the position into a pretty decent performer.

He had a first round grade until he blew out his knee...

Numbers are deceiving. Saints can and will sign the free agent they want in addition to their draft picks.

I totally agree Major. The issue in my mind is he hangs on to the QB idea and hasn’t embraced fully his other potential. I’m not saying he is incapable of being a QB mind you, i’m saying he is a superior player/athlete in what he does as a jackknife vs (so far) an average player at QB. He’s as capable as a Christian McCaffrey in my opinion.

If we can find the money, and he'd sign, my remaining cap space would be to sign someone like Golden Tate; bringing Kwon back, if he's healthy, would be sweet...

Dre Kirkpatrick probably isn’t a player anyone had in mind, but he’s probably the best we can do right now to hold down that spot until Paulson Adebo gets ready.

+1. At this point, I'd welcome any veteran corner signing.

CB is a position of need, not to mention we won't have Lattimore at the start of the season.

Possible that could be telling - Saints may have a verbal agreement in place with a FA, should said FA and agent not discover market sought...

More likely have our CBs in place with all CBs returning from last season with Paulson Adebo replacing Janoris Jenkins; have no problem with that group...

Like to see Gardner take over starting SS duties from Malcolm Jenkins and we find a younger S behind Mr. Marcus and Gardner for depth...

Gareon Conley is another FA CB still out there.

1st round pedigree, only 25 years old & played at "Thee" Ohio State. Surely Coach Kris Richard could "polish" him up. Worth a look.

Saints do like OSU players …

That’s for sure, we have to many blown plays on defensive schemes with arms in the air, Payton must audible DAs calls maybe[emoji876], and we loss Aaron glen . I was not a fan of him , now I’m excited with the new addition of Richard just to see if it becomes a legitimate (Super Bowl) caliber Defense

Don't forget all the finger pointing we see in the secondary after a blown play. That happens once or twice a game even with good veteran players. I heard DA was going to simplify his scheme. I'll believe it when I see it. He only does that after several games where our defense is getting killed. We always play better after he makes adjustments. DA likes to fool opposing teams but it looks like he confuses our players more often.
